No, that's bullshit.  If that was the case there would be much more floating around being traded and in TR.  I see one notable rare weapon a month that is brand new.  Obviously I don't see everything that get's traded, but if anything, shit has slowed down since 4, 5 or 6 years ago so I don't see how you can come up with such an assumption.

Maybe you're not looking in the right places? TR wouldn't be the place to start.

TR wasn't the main source of info, I was just pointing it out. Regardless even since I've been a member here, TR has become absolutely trash, but even then there were plenty of fine rare weapons posted unlike today. Even before I joined JSP and while I was member of CC-Comp, I'd still come here to look at the what was being traded and what was in the TR and I can confidently say that rare weapons were more abundant.

I'm still very baffled as to where you're making this assumption that rare weapons are being imported heavily. I'm not denying that rare weapons are being imported here and there, but honestly doesn't make a difference as to the ease of obtaining something nice as all this low scale rare weapon important has done is just slightly offset the lack of players finding anything useful.

With less players, that offset is multiplicative. All those imported rare weapons have a much smaller pool of people to sell to, and as a result, its not hard at all to acquire a rare like this these days.
I see them on about half the NL zons with random names and shit builds, nobodies who have obviously insane imported weapons, all the time.

Not every single item that is imported is posted on lewt, and not every single item sold on lewt is posted in the TR or has a nice paper trail to follow.

Most D2 sites do not sell rare weapons, so that is obviously out of the question. The ones that do sell rare weapons sell utter crap.

It wasn't hard to acquire those same rare weapons you are talking about 6 or 7 years ago after 1.10 came out. I personally see almost no difference in the abundance of these items in Zeal or BvB. I think it is a strange assumption to make. Isn't the correlation because many people who end up obtaining a rare weapon end up building a character around it? I think that makes much more sense. I know plenty of people who ended up building a Zealot or BvB after getting a nice rare weapon, so I'm sure that is the same case with those Zons you see sporting insane weapons. When I Zealed heavily back in 1.10 and 1.11 in West Temple almost every single player had at least one notable rare weapon in their stash, so I don't see how you can automatically make this connection to imports.

There is only a single duel where you use lightning bolt- against BvA's, where they have 75% blocking but you need to kill them through kb spam nonetheless
Lightning bolt deals its listed lightning damage added to 75% of your throw damage converted to lightning, so its all lightning- unblockable, autohit, but carries KB
Lightning fury deals its listed lightning damage added to 100% of your physical throw damage, but is blockable, but autohits, still carrying KB
But fury will obviously explode on minions, dealing at least double its lightning damage, and at most like 30x it or whatever

The key here is that physical damage will your hurt opponents a bajillion times more than lightning damage, hence fury is the go-to.
Besides the 25% damage loss and the -50% due to 75 vs 50 resists, if they have tgods, it might be a 10:1 ratio

y i know and understand reason to use fury. thing what i wanna say, dishing points in fury will increase mana consumption very much with little benefit on light damage, and extra bolts will not do much (already got 26 with 1 point). bolt as pure elemental atack maybe it will be more beneficial with higher damage?

well it will boost the damaqe from 1-1555 to 1-2680, which is less than a 'minor boost'- its almost double.
In terms of just the damage added to your attack thats already much more important. I mean, 99% of the time you're throwing your javelins, its going to be a fury, so getting extra damage on it is far more important than on bolt.
Fury has the nice perk of going straight through tgods with its physical damage anyways, and higher damage fury means clearing minion stacks in 1 hit instead of 2.

To be honest I think I've used lightning bolt like once or twice 'seriously' in all my duels, since BvAs are so rare compared to BvCs. And in that one duel where you might use it, if your opponent is wearing tgods, the damage boost would be inconsequential anyways- you're just using it to knockback him, not to kill him. Its the plague javelin that wins either way in those duels.
