Definitely use 3/20/20s and not shapers on a knife build, and focus on good +dmg jewels since they will usually give a better return than just ed% - for example, 30%ed/18min/dex jewels are really useful for a knife, but so are 18-18s and even 30 maxers. It depends on what you need in your sockets based on whether or not you use fort of chains or if you need more fhr, or whatever.

Also, there's really no need to boost dext over max block, because you're going to be getting a ton of extra ed% and damage even with the same number of dext that you would on a non-knife setup. I mean, if you REALLY wanted to do it I wouldn't recommend dropping below 9k life base total before pumping extra into dext.

The easiest way to answer this question is to follow the guide for the most part with some tweaks.

Use shape lifer grand charms and the best attack rating/life small charms you can afford (36/20s are perfect). Don't use any shape charms lower than about 35 life though, and if you have any less than 30 get rid of them and replace them with ar/life.

Botdz is a GREAT weapon and is pretty cheap. If you can use grief phase, that works too. Botdz is better in most circumstances though because of the range.

Everything else you can just use non perfect versions. You can probably make a decently usable wolf for a couple k forum gold honestly.
