Actually the last time I checked the average smiter has enough dex for mb. You have fun with your 80 life post-BO and I'll take my 5k+ defence and we'll see who does better against the only character it is worth BMing with a smiter (barbs). If you need to BM anything else you suck ass to the extreme.
and the "enough dex for MB" is generally done holding a hoz (if you are gm), which has deflecting mod.. when you replace it with an exile, with the same dex, your block goes lower.. and in that case, a st helps better than a vortex..
