But I'm a little curious why you typed all that up I never had a merc die on me even with 0 gear on in pvm, I mean the survivability rate you talk of is 100% if all your going to do is pvm,
and id be damed if i didnt kill the merc within the first few seconds of a pvp duel, I never even seen a modders merc survive for more then few seconds for the few pub games ive sat through...

in full games of 8 people, its not uncommon for an ill-equipped merc to die, i've had mine die plenty of times

its not a bad weapon considering you can get 50% Critical strike on it with being able to get a decent base speed on the weapon and meditation is always nice (i really have a hatred for mana pots on in pvm), but i'd have to agree with the fact that there are better options
