what about max block on a 200fcr/142 or 86fhr vita sorc

cant be too hard to attain with whistans, and its definately worth the investment

200% fcr max block is a faulty build.

It is nearly impossible to get 200/142 with whistans because you don't get the 55% fhr from spirit. This makes it significantly more difficult to achieve 142% fhr.

To get max block, you need to add a decent amount of dex. Vita sorces depend on health to live. Replacing so many vita points with dex points will greatly decrease your health.

Block helps vs. only some chars. Extra health points helps vs. all chars.

I'm not even really sure if there is a way to get 200% with whistans. And if there is, you are sacrificing a lot of life, and on top of that, the gear required to get 200% fcr would be all fcr gear, significantly limiting your options and lowering your damage.

Probably not the best idea...

whats the benefit of having 142fhr over 86fhr. where is it most noticable in pvp?

and subjectively, what is your pick for SvA build. 200/142 vita?

edit= in terms of a legit char, no bmana carrying bs

There are a few instances where 142% fhr comes in handy:
Vs. Trapsins: They cannot lock you in Mind Blast

Vs. Bowzons: Getting hit once won't lock you into getting hit multiple times

Vs. Necros: With a train of spirits or a line or spears coming at you, 1 hit doesn't mean multiple hits.

Vs. H-dins: You can tele away after getting hit once with less risk of another hit.

Vs. pretty much any char it comes in handy in some way or another.

If you can afford good lifers and good legit life/mana scs, then give yourself some good point distribution on your stats and I think the ES max block build is the best for SvA. You can tank melee chars with your max block. You can tank other chars with your ES. You still have the gear to do decent damage.

ES max block is only viable if you can afford good gear.

If you are not super-rich and able to afford the best gear, I prefer the 200/142 for SvA. Sure, you die easier than if you can afford the ES max block, but you don't get hit as often, and after you get hit once you can get out of the way of other hits. You still do moderate damage, and you attack fast enough that 1 hit can create more hits.

ALSO: I cannot edit this in to the original post, but I've been trying this out on friend's sorc and its working pretty well.

Another Dueling Strategy:
You have to set "asdf" as hotkeys to do this. It works against all chars, but defensive casters who tele a lot or chars with lots of Fhr make it tough. Works SUPER well against Zons cause you can dodge-lock them. Works MUCH better with 200% fcr than with 105%.

Set Firebolt (or ball, your preference) as "a" and set Telekenesis as "s" (you can have teleport as your right click)

Namelock the opponent with Telekenesis. Keep casting it. Switch really quickly to FB and let ONE ball out. Switch back to Telekenesis. Once the ball hits, switch back to FB and let out ONE more ball. Switch back to TK for the knockback stun. They will be unable to move out of the way of your attack because they are stun-locked by the Tk. Repeat this process until the enemy is dead. It may take a little while with some chars because you're doing 1 shot at a time, but once you get them locked they're pretty much done.

Also, once you get them in a good Fhr lock with TK, you can try this:
Send 1 FB at them. Switch back to TK. Keep casting TK. EXACTLY AT THE SAME SECOND that the FB hits them, teleport on top of them, maintaining your namelock. Then unload FBs on them. This works better with the 200% fcr because your 200% fcr FBs can fhr-lock them.
