If you go with no blocking on an ES sorc, get 200% FCR. If you go with blocking, get 105%.
And yes, I have dueled just about every kind of sorc in their prime (controlled by skilled and rich-ish people). I beat the es non block sorcs that didn't have 200 fcr with ease, the es block 105's were pretty un-beatable unless you use ow, the blizzard es sorcs can be easily beaten, the es max block orbers are easy. The hardest are skilled 105 fcr max block blizzers and fb'ers.
This guy is completely right imo.
My build is versatile like this. I get to 90% es normally, then vs. casters I have a 200%fcr/142%fhr set up, and vs. melee/bvc's I use a 105%fcr/142%/maxblock set up. Only switching out spirit for the stormshield, fcr rings for bks, and vipermagi for a coh.
My gear is all 200fcr gear but things w/ major str/dex and 7fhr/str/dex jewels.
And how can you say ruin your char just so you can beat bvc's? You have to beat every character, and trust me your weak es non max block sorce will get pummeled by good bvc's and druids. Why limit your build to only beating casters?
