Completely wrong. Cold mastery before 1.10 worked multiplicatively instead of additive.
For example, right now, if you have 175% resists and get hit by a cold attack with -150% resists, you'll take damage as if you had 25% resists.
In 1.09, it took your resistances and multiplied it. If they had 100% or more cold mastery, it didn't matter what your resistance was- it would always be calculated as 0%. It capped off at 0% with CM
So 75% resists vs 50% cold mastery would leave you at 37.5% resists.
Almost every bowazon wore 2x ravens- and bowazons were everything. People would stash luna to sorb vs cold sorcs, obviously
TGods was also extremely popular. But if you tried that, multishot & guided arrows would eventually kill you anyway
~_____~
Grandfather was not a good choice PvM. It was nice PvP against bowazons on a FRW build, because it was the highest damage back then for a 1 hander. In those duels, only the first 2-3 hitchecks would matter, in which case speed was irrelevant
And socketed with eth rune or using 08 arreats, you got that same 'eth glitch' as Fury / CCBOQ
But Fury / CCBoQ were the preferred BvB weapons.
Because multishot doesn't exist, amirite?
Try dueling my barb on east/ladder and saying that. 80% absorb, 600% cold resist and 95% max and +15 absorb
"Took a long time" as in no, it couldn't kill shit back then you scrub
Nado druids were as popular as poison dagger necros and psychic hammer sins. Except hammersins actually existed in ironmans
Mobility didn't mean shit in 1.09, when 90% of the skills in the game couldn't kill a fallen.
The only "mobility" was the amount of FRW vs poison charms on your bowazons. A nado druid could have had enigma back then and he would still suck hairy balls.
no dumbass
people said cold master was "capped" because they didnt understand the difference between Lower Limit and Cap.
The lower limit is negative 100. So people said it capped at negative 100. It didnt actually cap.
