this is not right :(

when dim visioned or cloak of shadowed, monsters & minions will not acquire new targets. If they were already moving to a point, they'll finish moving to it. They won't move to new points, however. But they'll attack anything that enters melee range, using their melee attack if they have one (edit: oops ranged monsters or spell casters won't attack if they don't have a melee attack, like skeleton magi). So if you cloak of shadows a necro with revives and teleport on him, they'll all gangrape you (although it won't do any damage unless he vive'd blunderbores anyway)

so they won't run towards you and attack, but if you get within range they attak!
I don't mind it too much when a sin cloaks me since my bear will still telestomp them

nope.

try it some time. you said you have kicks on your trapper.
find a viving nec, cloak his minions, tele on top of him, the minions will not touch you.

I had an old vid on my putfile account where I was telestomping a nec with full vives over and over again with his minions just standing still together and not doing anything while Im kicking the nec right on top of all the vives, but since putfile is dead I can't show you. =\ So just take my word it works, or try it out yourself.

you were probably out of range of the minions.
lots of monsters have size 1 and range 1, and so as a player even with range 1 weapons you can outrange them.

my grizzly though, is size 2 with range 2, so it always strikes when teleporting on someone.
if the necro had ranged revives, cloak would disable their attacks (demon imps, etc), which would account for that too

all cloak/dim vision do is set the units vision range to 0 and disable ranged/spells, meaning they can only see 1 square away from themselves.

nope. I have done this many times over on kicksins, wwsins (dclaw), trappers (fb) and so on. Minions do not turn towards me or attack me. 10-20+ minions stacked on top of another, some large in size, whatever, does not matter, they will not attack. I teleport directly on the nec, Ive had necs try to teleport in box corners or whatever to try evading my chainlocks, the minions are not out of range, and they never attack me while cloaked.

its been a few years since I pvm'd but if I remember correctly monsters do attack at melee once you walk up to them, however as for pvp minions and vives, I can assure you they will not do anything. go try it next time you see a viving nec.
its very safe to tele on top of viving necs once you've cloaked them. trust me Ive done it countless times.

i would find it odd if revives did not attack but my grizzly did, because I know he does

perhaps some glitch in the code? We could test >.>

if you want, go ahead. what I do know is cloaking works wonders vs viving necs and has won many duels for me.

I don't remember when the last time I cloaked a druid for the purpose of grizzly not attacking me so Im not sure if there is something different there, although I think it should be blinded as well.

it could have something to do with the unit size; grizzly is a lot larger/longer range than most minions
its possible that range 0 only extends into the units own collision box on some monsters, but that wouldn't explain blunderbores not attacking

I think most likely your shadow master just mind blasted them >.>

um.... the vives arent there to do damage, they're just a meat shield. i think hes talkin about a good necro whos bm and uses meat shield in addition to playing like a regular necro (which if i had to duel i would prob just camp till minions died)

but in the case of the extreme.... my first option is the best one

As I said, Ive landed right on top of large amounts of vives of varying size stacked on the necro, they never turned towards me, and Ive done this to vive nec after vive nec. Tried and true tactic that works.

well, if they are a good nec viving its a problem because good necs are a problem for hybridsins in the first place. but as for the average bm viver its np.
the minions being a meat shield does not matter once they are cloaked cause you can namelock the nec directly to dclaw, and its very easy to namelock through vives once you have them cloaked.
