Because you're factoring out human error.
The harder it is for you to hit them, the longer the duel lasts. The longer the duel lasts, the more chances for your to screw up. The more you screw up, the more you get charged. The more you get charged, the more you die. The more you die, the more the mouse wants a glass of milk. The more the glass of milk, the more he needs a straw, the more he nvm...

Failing to get out of stunlock is an error on the dins part.

this is ridiculous, i can hit pretty often even vs exile wearing smiters,

quit theorycrafting because something is wrong w/ your math,
go out and duel some smiters and you'll see that you hit more than you think.

sorry we don't all duel against 8000 defense uber smiters who run instead of walking and do nothing but hold down smite on a namelock.
Dueling trashy pubbers doesn't do a thing.

there are a lot of opportunities to hit smiters in a duel, they don't just stand in one place shift-smiting,
they charge to get out of stun, making it easy to hit them, and then they always will make mistakes when you're stunlocking them,
your 60k def argument really doesn't apply at all.
