Step 1: type /ignorepersist and make sure it says "enabled".

Step 2: type /filtermsg *InsertWordHere* .
(each word you add, is permenently added to a filter, which from then on will block the entire line of text from apearing on screen ingame, if anyone uses a word that is designated filtered)

Step 3: type /unfiltermsg *InsertWordHere* to remove a word from your filter list.

OR alternativly you can edit the .txt doc like so,

In your d2 directory, there is a file labeled "ignorelist" This file can be opened with notepad++
and once u open it you will see a list of words you designated to be filtered. All you need to do is delete unwanted words from the list and save/exit.

If anyone cannot figure this out, pm me and ill meet you ingame to further explain how the ingame filter system works.

i learned, after a bit of testing, that the reason some filters don't work is because the bots use different characters for their spam. plus, it isn't possible to add more than one filter for different capitalizations.
example: i have
!PaPa
!PapA
!PAPa
!pApa
!pApA
!PApA
!Papa
!pAPa
all added manually. and...
!ItemNow
!ltemNow
!ItemN0w
!ltemN0w
also added manually, but these could be set ingame. (notice the lowercase L for the capital I, and the zero for the lowercase O)

Its worth noting stuffed, that in game, nothing is case sensitive, not even passwords, this includes the filters.

So I can just, open up the file in my d2 folder and add words to the ban list and it will automatically block?

Haha, really useful thing and its first time for me to see this kind of topic and instructions. Right away tested it and started to use it, cus letter "N" on my keyboard, started to dissapear xD

Never used any ignore words or accouns until now, more than a decade, first time i find it useful, esepecially some of the "words" :DD

I think theres still several silent players around who are hard to be noticed xD
