well you wont believe it til you see it, if the smiter can position himself well you'll be dead ~1 sec after the smiter breaks out of his dysnch and whirling at~ 0 speed
but its not like you find this type of smiter often, only ever dueled one
charge/smite simply doesn't work, all you have to do is whirlwind away and the pally can never hit you period.
so whats the pally do then, stay shiftsmiting? If the barb has any ranged attack (brawler) or knows how to aura->leap->clip, shifting is suicide
unless the barb has incredible lag or bad reaction times, theres no way to hit him, but every time you put on charge you're basically losing 10-25% of your HP.
but if the pally is just syncing around the barb can just sync around too, and a pally can't even attack a barb while hes syncing at all.
the only way for it to work against a barb is a telesmite build that tries to auraflash them and then tele on top and smite. And then its a matter of who dies first and whether the baba knows how to
really sync or not
I'm sure syncing around and trying to get up next to a barb like you're on a hammerdin might work against people who are just above the top level, but anti-sync techs like 2x doom switch and good knowledge of how to ww away and sync yourself- negate that
