here's a few questions/ideas:
1) I was under the impression zerker synergy adds damage to frenzy. frenzy physical damage stays the same, and some more magic damage is added. Physical damage isn't reduced to convert into magic damage. Your guide says frenzy damage is reduce??!?
2) if you run into a phyiscal immune, with 20 pts into zerker as a synergy you should just use zerker to attack and not keep using frenzy as a attack.
3)if zerker does indeed drop frenzy damage you shouldn't really max this synergy, in fact I think it's a bit of a waste of points to max zerker anyway... it adds 1% magic damage per lvl. If you run into a magic immune I think best is to just run away from it, most places this frenzy baba will go he will not run into magic immunes often. At least the places I mostly go I don't run into magic immune. If you really have to kill a magic immune, either have a demon limb to chant yourself for fire damage or have a passion to use 1 pt zerker which will still kill faster than just the synergies with all the + skills u have.
4) you said you use 1 fcr ring and 2 wizzy to make the 105 bp for tele. wouldn't it be better balance to use hoto+spirit or hoto+hoto for good tele and a much bigger bo?
5) you are dual wielding, probably clearer to just delete the fbr table, and have only fhr and fcr rate tables.
6) your skills selection is a bit unclear I think, for most starter users they will not be able to follow the build properly. I am not keen on having 1 pts into most skills like you prefer but that it just a personal choice however to max zerker is actually very hard along side the other things you said someone should max.
I personally max:
frenzy
bo
taunt
double swing
sword mastery
100 pts used already
howl/shout/bash/double throw are prereqs so 104 already which will be finished at lvl93.
1 pt wonders of bc/iron skin/natural resist is basically a must, so 107 pts used lvl96 already.
3 more skills left, just enough for 1 pt into zerker which requires stun and conc. lvl99.
most people don't even get that high. i would just leave zerker out completely and use a passion in stash. if i really run into a bunch of phyiscal immunes that i want to kill, tp and get my passion for zerker.
I love playing barbs, going to build a new one again today i think. will post more questions/ideas later.
1- no, it works like berserk in that it converts physical to magical, your overall damage does not change when adding points to berserk
it merely changes 1-20% of the physical damage you would do into magical damage
2- sometimes the monsters are dangerous and you do not want to lower your defense completely to kill them, frenzy also attacks faster and will make use of the +elemental damages on your gear (like venom from grief, and +500 magic and +500 cold from azurewrath (note: venom is applied by both weapons, not just one))
3- this is a frenzy barb guide not a berserker, you still do physical damage with frenzy so you can kill magic immunes, i've never found a stoneskin magic immune that could not be broken easily
the unravellers/greater mummy class are all magic immune, but azurewrath removes all of their physical resistance no matter what
i kill every monster i find hands down no questions asked (sometimes this posses a fun challenge) this build is more than capable of killing anything anywhere, it just takes some finesse sometimes
4- i dont find myself needing bigger bo
that is certainly an option and is outlined in the old thread, i wanted to be a little more concise with the gear portion on this repost
5- really?, who cares.
6- that is your choice, if you think a couple +8% off weapon edmg is what you want more than versatility and ease of play and gear in stash reduction is worth it, so be it, i wont try and change your mind
i would rather have the skill than not, if that means missing a few synergy points, that's not a big deal to me
the point is that these skills all have a place in playing the barb well, a single point can mean the difference between this is easy and omg i cant kill these guys, especially if someone cannot afford high end gear, the skills are solid and imo crucial to a diverse and effective character
even a point on fast run is nice for moving through town.
there are skill outlines for the different types of setups, i like the berserk synergy for its versatility and ease of play, you may like a max damage build better, its up to you
this is supposed to be a
"frenzy guide"as such, a guide leads you in the general direction of and tells you what is good and what is bad, and what works. in the end it is you who decides which path to take
at the moment i am working on a build that has 1 point masteries, so i can use swords where i want to and maces where they are more beneficial, or even a mix of the two and still have good damage
i hope i have answered your questions completely, please feel free to post more as they arise
€: aww shit, thanks for reminding me!!!
i was going to do a frenzy/throw hybrid setup, this is a lot of fun to play too
now im going to have to repost this again!!! GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA
