So tell me, why should I choose to make this build over a dream aura smiter, or a v/t?

Dream has barely any DR and a v/t can get desynched by a hammerdin easier. The aura makes this build hard to synch. Those are just two reasons. There are advantages the v/t has over this build as well so I mean, it's mostly just personal preference.

Im convinced. After I finish my mage, I didnt want to make another FoH hybrid, so this definetly seems like a good option.
