I'm assuming it's the same as a fury/rabies druid and in that case they're needed greatly.

Ravens send zons into FHR animation, and combined with shockwave will send ALL characters into animation.

Wolves absorb attacks that would otherwise hit you, especially FOH attacks and barb WW hitchecks (and zeal and fury).

When you get hit by an attack in the game your character goes into a FHR animation this means that there is a certain amount of time before your character can attack or do anything again. Now even though it's a very short animation (and even shorter with the more fhr your character has and the better frames you get) fireclaw bears attack so fast that they can make your enemies stop in their tracks by constantly triggering the animation to happen.

That's the just of it I think xD

Life, it says so in the guide

Actually the FHR animation will only trigger if the attack does 1/12 of your opponent's life or more.

However if they have swirls over their head (from smite, mindblast, or shockwave) any damage will put them into FHR.
