anyone here tried this build using fortitude on the merc? i know the shattered corpses is annoying but how often does it actually happen?

Did not read through all pages lf the discussion to be honest. But treachery was not mentioned in this at all. I was currently thinking about:

eBotd GPA
Trachery
CoT

Very high life leech, very fast attacks and 105ias cap for GPA. Additionally no shatter issues and some extra gold, that, despite being not 100% effectivene, does not hurt. Just an alternative Idea to the BotD WP Setup mentioned.

Thoughts?

You might lose out on like 5 bodies every 100 runs it hardly ever happens. Certainly not enough for anyone to complain about.

Basically not at all. Anyone that tells you it's a big issue is delusional.



You lose out on way too much %ED/defenses from Fort or CoH, from experience.
At lower gear levels, the Merc will occasionally just explode if Fade hasn't proc'd. It clears fine, but you're going to randomly lose your Merc to bullshit way more often, at Trav.

I've been messing for a year on and off with 24FHR 4os armor, using 45IAS/resist jewel setups, and it's fine. Can work okay even on eBOTD WP + Andy's + 45IAS for the higher breakpoint.

Ok thanks. Got nothing against the recommended setups at all. I simply like the fast attack style. But you are right about fade ofc.

yup, imo by far the best p1 char out there, always been and just got ninja buffed in d2r (gold stash)

for mental sanity I woul still suggest a p1 gf baba / p8 split farmer (w/ever) till the bots dont get over. might be too old but just gf baba is way too boring past 2h/playtime in a row :V

I messed with the active version of the GF barb because loading time is quite fast now. My conclusion so far: zerker with an offhand 5x lem runemaster is the way to go. Budget version would be with any oath, preferably with the most damaging 1hand bases life ettin axe/berserker axe or colossus blade and the high end version with a grief pb. I had the best bang for the time with that setup.
