Imo viper is a must playing vita, since you badly need the res. Also Mana is Important playing Cold sorc : with low amount of mana you'll come down to 0 mana often.. and viper let you use 1 soj.
so viper vs ormus is like +2 all skils / 35 resist / 25 % more mana vs +3 blizz / + 15 % cold dmg / stats from fcr ring.
Don't forget you loose -10 cr using ormus setup, wich is also annoying~
I prefer the 1+Blizz and +15% cold damage over the -10CR. The extra damage cannot be countered by stacked resists.
And only noobs need the Viper for the resists:
20 anni
20 torch
11 FCR ring
11 FCR ring
70 Sanctuary
20 amulet
10 from 2x 5@/5FHR sc.

rest comes from DF, belt, gloves, boots and some 20/11 sc for a bit of stacked resists vs COLD/LIGHTNING.
a few 20/17 sc provides all the mana you ever need. and VITA sorcs are allowed to drink blues.. if you need them.
