The only way to stop and start swinging before they get to you is to "shift click" which is considered to be BM and will get you banned from ladders and tourneys if you get caught doing it

have zeal on left click without fanat on.
begin zealing when they come out.

Just when they reach you switch to left and pull out fanat on right

this will get you at least something.
