It works, but he's way over selling what it can do in most of the matchups in the strategy section.

Ah, care to elaborate for me?
I'm just looking for a pub dueler to have fun with.

On ladder don't think I'd see too many of those sorcs haha :P

Well, I'm gonna try this out, looks fun as hell if anything, and looks as if it could work Pvm as well.

extremely, to put it lightly.
The pelt is what makes or breaks the Shaman, and its also the only item on the whole char that is difficult to acquire.

At least its not like a ghost where claws, rings, ammys, circlets, etc all have to be trophy-worthy to be very effective.
Its very rare for helms to spawn with multiple +3 skill mods enough to begin with, and +2 skills on top of that is a toughy.

For the # of skills to have total, it will normally do this:
10% chance of 3 skills
30% chance of 2 skills
40% chance of 1 skill
20% chance of no skills

Normally, staffmod items have a chance of +skills as this:
10% chance of +3
30% chance of +2
60% chance of +1

So from a normal drop, any given pelt has only 1/100 chance of being +3 to 3 skills. At thats let alone trying to get the ones you want (volcano/grizzly/geddon).
So odds are extremely low. HOWEVER, theres a trick you can use to get very good druid pelts: Imbueing

When imbueing, the odds of getting more/higher skills is increased by a factor of the ilvl of the imbued item.
A level 90 item, for example, will add +90 bonus to the "more skills" and +45 bonus to the "level skills". So a level 90 item being imbued has:
100% chance of 3 skills
55% chance of +3
30% chance of +2
15% chance of +1

In other words, the secret to getting a good pelt (or any other staffmod item) is to imbue with a high level char. The ilvl of the imbued item will be set to clvl + 4 (your character level + 4), so imbuing a druid pelt on a level 95+ char has the absolute best results. The ilvl of the item before you imbue it won't matter iirc.

another byproduct of that, is that those packages of "mass rare druid pelts from chaos!" you see all the time, are actually pretty shitty
imbued pelts have a much higher chance to be good

2 Druid
3 Volcano

Something like that work? No +grizzly?
