Yes it does.

Conviction lowers resist regardless of you or merc wearing it.

However, the additional -45 to -55% enemy lightning resist ONLY applies if YOU are wearing it, not your merc.

Therefore, wearing the infinity yourself is ALWAYS more damage than having your merc wear it.

Don't use target dummy

I assume you're doing this with Merc using infinity which means you're going to have a ton of mana problems without insight.

Also mang song is +5 where's the extra skill coming from? So you lose a ton of mana Regen to gain barely 1k DMG?

mang song has 30 fcr so no 2/20 amu and can use 3 light amu instead. as I said, it may not better playstyle-wise but his statement is just wrong about pure dps. And maybe if you are quick enough and have some insights you can use iron golem made of insight so mana not an issue. Just some thoughts

I think you are still missing that the -% enemy lightning resist is a HUGE loss for pure damage.

It is not necessary, and there are definitely other ways to build a nova sorc, but for pure damage infinity > all.

The final nova build is when you use a token and switch to lightning

When has poison ever been an issue in D2 in the history of the game? assuming pve?
I've only ever played HC, and everyone i know play HC, nobody has ever cared about poison, even make jokes or laugh at people saying "TRI RES BOOT OMG" when they have psn res, its not even considered a resist in that context lol

go farm ball wave 2 / WSK lvl 2 / AT with nova sor without antidote and plague
we'll see how many times you go back and cry to mara

this problem is going to be more severe with TZ since most A2 A3 areas have psn

Thats because u have negative resists with this build and around 600 hp with 6bo cta, if u get poisoned you go from 600 to 0 in a few ticks.
