Well AoW was a German-League in the past.
the site was AoW-pvp.com.
it got closed @ 2009 and played since 2002 I think
here you can see the original rules, which have been used in those Leagues:

also this: Uh interesting post, thats just what i meant when i said an introduction like that would help outsiders to understand aow rules and get close to it. Just the 45dr cap should be ampliated, since you clearly have more gear flexibility with 50dr as cap ^^

if an guy dosent understand why to play this barb vs barb duels nothing will happen .) this is running many years now, its 2014 and still exists.
Reason why aow rules was set as you questioned is clear and understandable, its more balanced duels as 400grief, 300forti 50dr on each character in field.
In this guide are all mostly used items, with not only eth self-rep armors and weapons as "best choice".. but more of uniques and rws, so you are now criticing an unique axe in guide, which is still pretty fine weapon with no reason really..
I don't think you got what i wrote...
I never said "aow rules are stupid", i just said itd be interesting to add an introductive section where the reasons behind them are explained. You can see by yourself how many ppl criticize them so i feel that would help.
About edc, i just said that its useless to analyze a edc gear when its clearly inferior to botd. Its just worse than that , so the only reason to use it would be for "style" if somebody likes that. Then why don't we talk about a death ba build? Or some other unique axe too, they sure can be cool
Ah and btw, its not true that duels are more balanced when there is no grief around, it just means that you have to use botd if you cant afford a 10kfg axe, and that you will really rock if you buy a 100kfg one.
Same for forti, if you cant afford 5k fg for an armour you HAVE TO use enigma.
Thats just the opposite of being balanced, and these are facts ^^
