If you did this test on a barb he couldve had one point into iron skin which meant that even without armor he would have higher defense. This could impact the results =/

the tests are using guided arrow...defense doesn't matter...

To complete my message, i found one of the links.
I didn't read 3/4 of this, I must admit, so if this doesn't help you forget my post.

This was very helpful in explaining the order in how to socket jewels so that they conduct correctly
Thank you very much for taking the time to link this ^^

It may yet be possible to make a Jeweler's Of Whale that clearly outdamages Fortitude and maintains resistance

Next up, are a few Jeweler recipes using the jewel order in the link that Muletornado has provided
I'll let everyone know how it turns out

So did another test in light of the lld socketing order...

While he proved that socket order mattered when you had ed% jewels and min/max jewels, the point I think is that we need to find out if jewels with ed and max are bugged or not.

Here's the test I did

Setup 1: Damage displayed = 86-1013
Hydra Bow
4x40/15 max jeweled armor
3x40/15 max jeweled helm

Hits to kill a 15,000 hp barb = 115, 114, 109, 109, 111, 106

Setup 2: Damage displayed = 86-1498
Hydra Bow
2x80ed jewels, 2x30 max jewels armor(socketed in the right order: ed first)
1x120ed jewel, 1x30 max jewel, 1x15 max jewel helm(again socketed in the right order)

Hits to kill a 15,000 hp barb = 118, 104, 105, 116, 105, 115

Conclusion? Pretty sure the 40/15 max jewels work in the same manner as the ed/max jewels socketed in the right order

Did another quick test too...

Added a 50 min jewel to hydra so there was less difference between min and max, thus less variation

Setup 1 damage displayed = 519-1013

hits to kill: 87, 85, 89

Setup 2 damage displayed = 519-1498

hits to kill: 89, 86, 89

So yeah...with the smaller variance the results are even more clear...

So this might be the test you've all wanted to see...Decided to test a fully setup bowzon with fort and a 120ed/72 min/36 dex armor using both a diamond faith and gmb faith

Gear that didn't change

80ed/30 ias plain helm
cats eye
20 ias gloves
war travs
no belt
2xraven frost
40x3/20/20s

Only skill used was guided arrow, which I maxed
Dex without armor = 456

Test 1:

Bow: Perfect Diamond Faith
Armor: Perfect Fortitude

Hits to kill 15,000 hp barb = 26, 26,24, 26, 24 = 25.2 avg

Test 2:

Bow: Perfect Diamond Faith
Armor: 120/72/36

Hits to kill 15,000 hp barb = 25,25,25, 24, 26 = 25 avg

Test 3:

Bow: Perfect GMB Faith
Armor: Perfect Fortitude

Hits to kill 15,000 hp barb = 24, 23, 28, 27, 25 = 25.4 avg

Test 4:

Bow: Perfect GMB Faith
Armor: 120/72/36

Hits to kill 15,000 hp barb = 23, 24, 24, 24, 24 = 23.8 avg

CONCLUSION 1:

120/72/36 armor > Fort for average damage!!!

CONCLUSION 2:

Diamond Bow is probably the better choice over Grand Matron considering you need 35% less ias and the damage output is just about equal.

Edit:

Tried the same test with an armor w/ 4x30ed/18max/10min jewels...here the results

With Diamond Bow Hits to kill = 26, 29, 27, 26, 27 = 27 avg

With GMB Hits to kill = 26, 24, 25, 26, 25 = 25.2

Conclusion: the 30/18min/9dex jewels were better than 30/18max/10min jewels

These results, are important
This was a great test run actually ^^
I've been telling everyone that Diamonds are just plain better for many reasons for a very long time now

About conclusion #1 though, here is still the remaining problem:
* That big +min is amplified greatly by the fanatacism aura off of a Faith, thus is pulls it's weight in keeping up with fortitude
* On jav-side switch however, you benefit no fanatacism aura for your high dmg ethereal cruels. So the delimma I am having at this point is figuring out how to keep javas on par with fort dmg
That raw +300%ed on fort seems to amplify the javas more still

I have some armor that will be tested soon enough
I'll have more results again soon as well

For javas I'm pretty sure fort will always be better because the javs have a much higher base damage than the bows do, so the ed will grant a much better bonus.

So I upped my barbs life to a little over 25,000 and also put 20 points into critical strike, giving me 69% crit...wanted to see if the crit benefited either bow or armor setup...

Test 1: GMB + 120/72/36

24, 29, 23, 23, 27 = 25.2 avg

Test 2: Diamond + 120/72/36

29, 25, 27, 27, 26 = 26.8 avg

Test 3: GMB + Fort

28, 25, 27, 27, 26 = 26.6 avg

Test 4: Diamond + Fort

26, 27, 29, 26, 29 = 27.4 avg

So conclusions seem to be the same...120/72/36 armor is better than fort and diamond bow only takes 1-2 more hits to kill

Dex without armor = 456

why do this lol ?

No good zon is a glass cannon nowadays .. :P

Also " hits to kill " is kinna vague - it would've been better just to record the average damage i guess as theoretically 1 weapon could be doing more damage and getting the barb down to 300 life on his nth hit, but the other weapon gets the barb to 2500 life on its nth him. Now both weapons may take n+1 hits to kill the barb, but the first weapon is doing better damage.

Also, even if this armour is doing a little bit more damage than fort, fort is still superior due to the chilling armour bonus, and 5 % max res and 30 res @ and 150 life ( + 7 rep life )
