Nope. Only thing lightning has on nova is range. Damage doesn't really matter in pvp in my own opinion.
With 2600 damage I easily killed everything that is gm.

Dueling Strategies

Amazon

Teleport in zig-zags for bowazons to avoid guided arrow as much as possible. If glass/cannon, one thunderstorm should do the trick.
For javazons, have some distance so charged striked can't hit you. If facing fcer, tele away and if they chase, tele to them and nova to death.


Assassin

Not much you can do against trappers since they hide behind their traps.
Hybrid assassins are basically the same just a tad easier since they also use whirlwind.
Pure whirlwind assassin are neither easy nor tough. Just have to watch out for their venom. Poison owns energy shield.


Necromancer

Posion necros are somewhat tough. Like I said, venom rapes energy shield so no doubt their poison will drain your life quickly.
Bone necros depends on the person dueling with it. I've faced easy necs and tough ones. Use your best instinct.


Barbarian

Conc barbs are just like any other melee, don't let them get near you.
Bvc's are a challenge especially if stacked resists. Don't let them teleport on you or else you're dead. You have no shield, one whirlwind will kill you if not careful.


Paladin

Smiters are easy if they don't stack resist, use fade or sorb.
Chargers are tough. Since they charge around, hard to know where they are coming from therefore killing you. I suggest to never stand still when facing one.
Hammerdins should be easy if they don't sorb or massive stack. Just watch out for those desynched hammers.
Pure fohers or Vindicator/templars should do little damage to you since energy shield absorbs most of the damage.


Sorceress

Energy shield or not, should not be much of a challenge. Never teleport straight, do zig-zags.
I'd suggest not letting fireball hit you directly. Their massive damage can kill you in one hit.


Druid

Melee should not be a problem, don't let them get close is all you need to know.
Wind druids are a challange on the other hand. Their cyclone armor tanks most of your damage. I suggest using lightning to knock off their armor and once it's down, go in for the kill.
They usually run to recast armor + summons, so don't let them. Chase them and if they happen to recast, keep on using lighting to knock it off again.
