zva with lvl 1 multi
hard max avoid/evade/crit when they won't actually gain another % lol
if they use a cta, shako, circlet, etc... they gain just 1% and have to spend 4 points which could go into multi

come now, at least mustang is able to back up his arguments.

this is all you can say in the face of common sense?

I am not going to argue with you on a fact that has been proven multiple times within the past 2 years

But I will troll you with Robbey Rotten because this is who you remind me of when you're trolling

Had a guy ask about (why max base points in to dodges?)
I responded with a well written response and thought it was worth posting, seeing as how this is often brought up in the S&G forum

note all this being said with +8 all skills and +2 passive n magic

how come in strategy guide it says add 20 to evade cuz even with bo at lvl 21 it stays at 60

wouldnt u stop at 17 hard points cuz there is no more progression?

as for avoid 20 hard points get 69 and with bo you get 70% or you could save 4 hard points and stop at 17 hard points and get 69%

or do you know something i dont? not trying to make any offence when i say this i just realy want to know

People often ask this question, if I had known how frequent it would be I would have added this in to the guide:

* The build is meant to use many different gear outfits, including a ZvZ outfit which has 2 less all around skills than the ZvA outfit
* Remember that while on Jav-Side you have an additional -2 skills to your passives (this is also when it's most important to be blocking/avoiding because it is the defensive side)
* While wearing the ZvZ outfit and being on Jav Side (with no BO for GM ZvZ rules) you will have -5 points to your all around skill passives (this is why the base 20 passives, mostly)
The high base points isn't to achieve a super topped out high % it's more to balance out the loss in points/% while wearing ZvZ gear outfits with no Battle Command, the extra points matter
* Also Remember that the decoys/valkyries get synergies from the base points added (so they get the same dodge % as read by the base levels) This is more important than it would seem vs certain builds
* And most importantly, there just isnt' anything else worth adding to (a low lvl plague javelin as example, isn't going to help you)

Let me further explain this-->

The base levels and % of the skills are this: Dodge 10/47% ~ Avoid 20/65% ~ Evade 20/56% (this is with no + skills and is what your decoy/valk will benefit)
The GM ZvA outfit on BowSide with BO will have this: Dodge 21/56% ~ Avoid 31/70% ~ Evade 31/60% <-- +11 skills past base
The GM ZvZ outfit on BowSide with no BO will have this: Dodge 19/55% ~ Avoid 29/69% ~ Evade 29/59% <-- +8 skills past base
The GM ZvZ outfit on JavSide with no BO will have this : Dodge 17/54% ~ Avoid 27/68% ~ Evade 27/58% <-- + 6 past base

Dropping your base points in these passives by even 1 will result in this change for your ZvZ outfit on JavSide (as example) because it is the lowest skill bonus (which is the most vulnerable)
Dodge 16/52% ~ Avoid 26/67% ~ Evade 26/58%
And so on and so forth, every point you lose in these bases heavily effects the ZvZ outfits
As you can see the high base points really is more about maintaining maximal optimization for dodges while wearing ZvZ outfits
If you don't add full base points, you will easily be losing 2-4% on the dodge skills while wearing the ZvZ outfits (which have significantly lower +skill bonuses)
The lose of added points/% becomes more severe with lower +skill setups

Hope this helps

you're right... my god this man is a genius...

i would have never thought to use a 900 life valkyrie that has a 6 second casting delay... but with DODGE SYNERGY!!!
and i overlooked the fact everyone keeps his (terrible) zvz build in their stash. :bonk:

About Faith of Ice bows:
Posting this so I never have to write this up again

Faith Of Ice is deception

Diamond Faith requires 65% IAS, which is easily achieved with: Rare Diadem 30%, Cat's Eye 20%, Knockback Gloves 20%
+20% IAS from Faith of Ice Diamond would do absolutely nothing to improve your setup here as these are the items you would want to wear anyway, regardless of a 20% IAS bonus from the bow
Also, Faith of Ice does not give as much Enhanced Damage % to the actual weapon damage as standard Faith bows, which = bad
Most people think that the 20% deadly strike is a superior gain in damage over a standard Faith bow and this is wrong, I'll explain why at the bottom of this post

GMB Faith requires 92% IAS, which is easily achieved with: 45%/120, Cat's Eye 20%, Knockback Gloves 20%, Nosferatu's 10%
Again, the +20% IAS from Faith of Ice does nothing to help this setup
At first glance it would seem obvious to wear Faith of Ice, gain 20% IAS and ditch Nosferatu's and wear a Dungo for more life/DR%
But due to the significantly lower whole number damage on a Faith of Ice and the 20% Deadly Strike barely doing anything to help your damage output, you will be dealing significantly lower damage than even a standard Diamond Bow Faith
Long story short, if you are trying to benefit from the Faith of Ice GMB's 20% IAS, you'd be better off just using a Diamond Faith to begin with

I'll explain why the 20% Deadly Strike is doing nothing to help your Bowa and how Critical/Deadly work together:

Bowazons commonly add base 20 points in to Critical Strike (If you don't do this, you aren't building your Bowa correctly)
Bowazons easily reach 70% to 73% Critical Strike with +skill items to begin with
Considering an Amazon has a base Critical of 70% and let's say she is wearing Faith of Ice for 20% Deadly, here is how the game runs Critical/Deadly:
* You fire Guided Arrow, it hits
* The game first attempts to roll Critical Strike 70%, if it works and deals double damage, the Deadly Strike does nothing else
* If Critical Strike misses, the game then attempts to roll Deadly Strike 20% (after the Critical has already been attempted)
((There is no quadruple damage, Crit/Deadly does not work at the same time, ever))

So essentially, with a 70% Critical ~ 7/10 Guided arrows are dealing double damage or 70% of the time you are dealing double damage
This means that only 3/10 hits or 30% of the time, your Deadly Strike is doing anything at all and when it does, it is only a 2/10 chance (If Crit misses) For the Deadly to work at all
All in all, you are gaining much more damage output by just plain having higher weapon damage to begin with

Even if you were wearing Faith of Ice, Highlord's and Gore Rider (which is even further loss of whole number damage)
You would still be dealing 7/10 Crits
Missing crits 3/10 shots
and then 3/10 shots only having a 6/10 chance to save that double damage
But this setup lowers your whole number damage, fast run walk, +STR and life = Not worth it

Faith of Ice is pure deception, worthless and entirely over-priced
