yes and I'm talking about damage in the thousands based on after the pvp penalty ( like grief ). This would equate to over 6000 damage or so in this " character screen ".

Yes, but tudey's claim is that Grief damage is applied after PvP penalty.

The best way to test it is to test in PvM. If the damage is considerably lower on Grief in PvM vs another high base dmg/ED% weapon, then tudey is right. His theory implies that Grief is good in PvP, bad in PvM. This is not the case.

Why? It's one of the most actual useful discussions I've seen on this forum, rather than all the people coming in here asking for builds before checking the stickies.

No PvM works differently to PvP, i.e. in PvM open wounds causes monsters to stop regenerating life, the same cannot be said about PvP.

The mechanics of grief could equally work differently without a PvP penalty

And anyway, can you actually give PROOF that it works better in PvM in the first place? So far you've just made a statement without justification and assumed it to be fact ( the same way you did about grief's damage in PvP ).

If you can prove that the damage formula, other than pvp penalty, ever acts differently in pvp (regarding ED modifiers and wpn dmg), please do.

Yes, it is. tudey's ENTIRE PREMISE is that the SOLE reason Grief is any good at ALL is because the +400 damage is applied after the PvP penalty. If this were true, Grief would suck in pvm.

tudey says the damage in the character screen is CORRECT for Grief

If that's true, then why is Smite's damage clearly incorrectly shown in the screen?

That's the point, Grief's damage is entirely wrong on the CS and ED% IS applied to it.

Are they really trolls? On the "tier list" (however accurate it is, the guy in tier 2's video was basically at my skill level and I never considered myself that good) tudey and his friend are "tier 2". Is this all a plot to get other BvCs to become shittier?

I kind of think they really believe it.
