Just when I was considering respecing my barb to a PVP ww barb, he keeps finding stuff like this. It's like he is hinting me that he prefer his singing career right now. Fml.

Using Guillames would be significantly better than either of those

I don't know what people's deal is with GFace. It's a great helmet, but it's not the end-all-be-all of Merc gear.
On an eBOTD WP + Amp Damage Gavel setup, the problem isn't the damage output, it's the Merc not dying. Life Leech + AR or straight up Andy's for the 80IAS Jab Breakpoint is infinitely more valuable than whatever imaginary benefit people see in Crushing Blow vs. Council Members with low HP.
If your DPS setup is atrocious, CB gets way better. But Trav Council isn't Baal. They don't have millions HP to chew through. Their HP is so god damn low, and the problem isn't _dealing damage to them_, it's making sure the hits connect & making sure the Merc can self-sustain.

The Deadly Strike on an eBOTD setup is unnecessarily overkill, and it doesn't speed you up enough to give up the life leech/hit rate, or even the IAS of Andy's.

The marginal benefit might be the FHR, but having tried even a Jeweler's Dusk of Stability with IAS/ED jewels to help with FHR (which becomes pseudo-IAS since the Merc springs back into action faster), it's been a pretty unremarkable stat.

Assuming you are using ebotd, You have plenty of life leach already.

Deadly strike is deadly strike

Crushing blow is even more effective than what you are considering given you have amp on them.

Your entire build is shit

Amp multiplies the damage of crushing blow.

You are severely overestimating the need for leach, and severely underestimating the value of crushing blow + deadly strike

Amp & Decrep have the same effect on CB.
The problem with CB vs. Council is that you hit them so hard already you don't need to take tiny chunks of their HP away.

Taking 1/4th (minions) or 1/8th (Super Uniques) of a 9-20k pool assuming you're CBing exactly when they have max HP is so irrelevant when you're smacking them in the face for 10k.

Why am I even having to argue this.

You use CB to kill Fallen in the Blood Moor, too?

It’s not irrelevant in the slightest.

Especially considering when using war pike, you have such low minimum damage.
