I used maxroll they allow to use the charm and calculate -res in. Not said it would be better playstyle-wise, just proving his statement wrong about less dmg

They don't account for a monsters resists. They just go down to -100 and that's it's.

put you mouse over nova damage (min-max) and there is enemy resistance

Maxroll is rarely correct.

Nor did you use it correctly.


If a monster is sundered, it brings its resistance to 95, and then your - res and conviction is applied.

Meaning if using Mang Song, the mosnrwr will have -85 residence from infinity from merc, then another -20 from griff, and -5% from a facet in Mang song, and -15% Mang song.

Which means the monster will be at -30 lightning resist as:
95-85-20-5-15= -30

Self holding Infinity will be at -65


So let’s just assume for a second, your on screen damage is the same whether you are using Mang song or infinity. For ease, we will use 1000 damage for easy math.

If your on screen damage is 1000, using Mang song with the mosnrwr at -30 resistance, you will do 1300 damage

If holding infinity, it will be 1650.

1650 > 1300

For Mang song to equal the damage output of infinity, Mang song would need to bump your damage up to 1270. As 1270 x 1.3 (where 1.3 is your negative enemy resistance multiplier) = 1650

Meaning Mang song needs to increase your on screen damage by 27% to equal the damage of infinity. +5 skills is not a 27% increase to your damage.

Do you really need to stack 87% faster hit recovery when your energy shield is absorbing 95% of the damage? Seems like you're not getting put into hit recovery unless you've really fucked up - but 600 hp isn't going to save you at that point.

Yea and it's starting at zero.. not 95% like a light immune would.

Lvl 40 Nova infinity: 4596 avg
Lvl 46 Nova Mang Song: 6088 avg

4596 *1.75*3.13 = 25174.59
6088*1.4*3.13 = 26677.62
