Everyone who isn't a rand knows what hr's are .. joined 2003 wtf lol

For your information, hr's were originally stated as Lo+ since Vex/Ohm are so easily obtained via mass forge running.

On-topic :

You will not find a single new HR pattern. prove me wrong ;)

Thanks, The post has been reported. Thank you for your help in keeping this site a cleaner and better place for everyone!
Please wait while we redirect you to the new page.

I am sorry but I could not find that "Everyone who isn't a rand knows what hr's are" thread
Originally stated where? Your personal opinion book of original D2 statements?

Interesting that you posted this before:
Quote
Logic conclusion is we are in 2017. Pul runes doesn't count too. Vex+ might. I highly doubt someone else will prove me wrong. :D but let's see

Now it is just Lo+? Changing your mind on daily basis?

Look at the following 2 examples:
(ID 159) Gul [NEW] pattern for "P7/P8"
(ID 52) Vex Change psetting "P5/P6" to "P7/P8"

According to common inet sources (and your previous post), at least the Vex one is a new high rune patterns.
If your personal opinion says otherwise, I recommend to reflect your personal point of view

Again:
Besides, I rly don´t know what you ppl expect this thread to be
You think that after 11 years of LK pattern tracking this thread is going to pop up several new ones within a week (without you even posting screens)?

Just wating for your "QQ P5/6 to P7/8 is no new pattern QQ"
If we would not have "researched", this pattern would still roam around somewhere else and would not have been discovered to P7/P8
Is it completely new? Nope
Is it new to P7/P8? Yeah

Honestly if you really want to put this topic to rest, the simple solution would be to brute force it. Develop a program to read your ram and track what drops from each LK chest. If you figure a bot could run ~2.5 LK runs in a minute and an LK map has 6 super chest in it. A single bot could do 170,000 runs (A little over a million chest open) in 47 days. A single computer can run multiple bots. So in 8-10 days you should be able to work your way through all 65k patterns. Do this for each of the players settings and you should be able to put this topic to rest in a little over a month. Sadly you won't ever be able to know if you've hit all the patterns due to there being identical patterns. Especially on lower settings where there are fewer drops.

I'm not sure how many runs you would have to do to have a sufficient sample size. It's been over a decade since I had to figure out standard deviations.

Also with hero editor you could just make a 200 fcr/1480FHR/9k life/max res/max dr/1k FRW+vigor sorc do the work. Find someone with a ridiculous LK map and duplicate that character X times. You might be able to push 3lk runs per minute. Assassin might be better to do this with. Even though you get a 2 frame slower teleport you never have to buy keys.

Agreed
But as said before, I don´t know of anyone that is capable of doing this
Perhaps someone knows someone?

You would probably have to head over to the forums of one of the major bots.

That didn't come from a super chest so it's not what NickMan is looking for. Nice find though.

Been lurking as a guest for a while. Anyway, on the issue of LK superchest drop, I think we are nowhere near exhausting the possible patterns quite yet. Yes, we could bruteforce it as someone suggested earlier. But we don't need that to probe the degree to which we are closed to exhasting the possible 65k drop pattern.

Anyway, based on data in treasureclassex.txt, it is easy to show that, given that a rune is dropped, the probability of that drop being from gul and above (rune tc 13 to 15) is about 0.73%, or out of 1000 runes dropped, 7 on average will be Gul, Vex, Ohm, Lo, Sur, and Ber. Unless there is something oddly weird about those 65k patterns, figuring out whether we are closed to exhausting the patterns comes down to figuring out how many runes are dropped out of those 65k drop patterns.

Let's suppose we get 0.5 rune drop on average out of, say, 6 chests in a single LK run. This means 65k patterns produce a total of 32k runes. Out of these 0.73% will be Gul and above, or 220 odd runes. This number is about 5 times the current Gul+ pattern count in p7/8. Conclusion, we are nowhere near exhausting the possible drop patterns.

Now, the major unknown here is whether 0.5 rune per run is a reasonable estimate. To make 38 gul+ rune drop patterns signifying the end, rune drop per run has to be closer to 0.1, or 1 rune every 10 runs.

I must admit that I have no feel about this as I play ladder. I tried a handful of LK runs focusing on popping all conveniently accessible poppables on the way to finding the campfire huts. I am getting about 1 rune per 2 or 3 runs. I reckon that popping many poppables in p1 including campfire chests in LK in a single game produces about the same total drop count as in p7/8. If statistics about runes per run are available, we could be more certain about how far away we are from exhausting the patterns.

This brings me to the last point. It appears to me that LK run is actually nothing special aside from the fact that it could be done quickly and safely in single player games.

Some interesting points are being made here

Current data suggests that lower player setting will lead to less (high) rune drops
This may be wrong though since less and less data is available the lower the psetting is

Take a look at the following thread for comparison of rune hunting doing LK / Travi / Cows:
https://www.diabloii.net/forums/threads/lk-vs-travincal-vs-cows-runefinding-guide.940121/

LK comes out on top for nearly any comparison being made there

Ofc you can find stuff (runes) in other places but if you are up for runes (for CtA, Eni, etc), LK is your go-to and I would advice anyone just to pop the superchests and leave anything else
Minimizing your run time on superchests seems to be the most efficient way to get (high) rune drops in this game

Here some numbers:
Area: LK p7/8
Character: sorceress (any type)
Runtimes: 30s
to farm Infinity from zero: ~2570 runs (21 hours 25 minutes)
to farm Enigma from zero: ~3855 runs (32 hours 8 minutes)
to farm Infinity AND Enigma from zero: ~6425 runs (53 hours 33 minutes)

Area: Travincal p3
Character: barbarian (50% hork)
Runtimes: 60s (perhaps 60s is doable to reach with some practice)
to farm Infinity from zero: ~4107 runs (68 hours 27 minutes)
to farm Enigma from zero: ~3857 runs (64 hours 17 minutes)
to farm Infinity AND Enigma from zero: ~7964 runs (132 hours 44 minutes)

We seem to have discovered a new Ber pattern for P7/P8 in this WT by Camowlin

Rune drop was posted on 9 Oct 2015 and is shown on page 64 in this post
This is the screenshot:

Items shown on the screenshot are:
Antlers, Blade Bow, Horned Helm, Tyrant Club, Pike

At first I thought it matches ID 151 but a closer look says otherwise:
Wrist Spike, Antlers, Crossbow, Heavy Crossbow, Small Shield, Stygian Pike, Chain Gloves, Blade Bow

This pattern is currently not known to any player setting and will be added soon!

100% of 7-8patterns are confirmed and found already

p7-8 is 99.99% done

So far there is no hard evidence of new patterns .. only " in this WT blabla but psetting was unknown"

I highly doubt someone else will prove me wrong. :D but let's see

Still 0 new hrs patterns discovered

You will not find a single new HR pattern. prove me wrong ;)

Any new excuses to this? Perhaps like "Ber not a high rune" or "screen is fake"?
