Try the test one more time using a 160/60max armor. That way you can check to see if the maximum damage possible is exceeded and then check to see if it is exceeded by a number within the range added by the 160% ed.

I'm pretty sure what your results on this one will be, but after considering the way the min damage bug works when it pushes min past max, I'm curious again.

Yes, I understand this, but he's saying something entirely different.

/e nvm I guess I interpreted it wrong, thought he was talking about an ed, then ed+max jewel being socketed ;v

im guessing, when min damage pushes above max, with ed , then the min damage is only added to the max damage (if that makes sense), instead of min damage adding to both, resulting in min damage = max damage -1.

At first i think he was just looking to determine the ed min/max bug, which most people had known and checked long ago. The wierd thing that I saw, was how the min damage in one of his string of experiments was 6, when that is below the theoretical minimum damage.

During a different string with the naked setup, it even hit a 4 at one point

This my friend, whatever is happening there, just entirely defeats the purpose of the min dmg to begin with ^^

ummm...I think I can explain this now...

So from my experiments I have found that there is no damage glitch with ed/max jewels, the damage is just displayed incorrectly.

For your min damage experiment what is happening is that there is a display error because min is greater than max. it displays it as 72-73 but it is in fact 73-5(or whatever) which is then inverted to actually be 5-74 which is why you have such low hits.

What I'm saying is that the +min does not become max and min when the min exceeds the max.

Also to explain the very high hits. The ed% from the armor works with the +min jewels. So it is adding 116% of the 72 min damage = 80 or whatever so your total damage becomes 5-150.

So there are 2 display bugs going on here.

1. When min exceeds max, the displayed max damage is false(it is in fact less than the min)
2. When there are jewels with ed% and +damage, their mutual damage addition(the ed% * +damage) is not shown on the display.

Edit:

Your test with the ed/min armor proves my first point and this test I did(from page 1 of posts) proves my second point(along with your test)

Hits to kill average ~20

Setup 2: Plain Hyrdra Bow Armor w/ 4x511%ed jewels, helm w/ 3x511%ed jewels. On screen damage = 416-2831

hits to kill average ~40

Gonna test a couple different setups as well...cause this is interesting...

u should test it again, until you find the lowest number that it can hit, 4 damage in pvp means like 24 screen damage, according to my theory that the min damage only gets added to max when min damage = max damage ( on an ed jewel ), then you should see an even lower hit arise i think.

You guys are way beyond me in the math/inner mechanics of the game but I'm definitely interested in the results.
I built my bowa around a Dia Faith and a jewelers armour with 4 * 30ed/18min/9dex jewels (since I needed no more IAS) to try something different.
Wathcing with interest, and if you need a tester I'm game (although frequently busy, sry).
