to everyone asking about a shield, decapitator is a 2-hand weapon. if you want to go 1hand, there are plenty of options for both weapons and shields. phoenix shield with high base res would be a great choice (if not the best choice) for shield. i prefer 2hand because 1hand will not 1hit kill most builds. if you want to try 1hand (or a 1hand smite/charge hybrid for that matter), go for it. i was just speaking from my own experience with chargers - and ive always played 2hand weap chargers.

as for fort, i think i talked a bit about it in another post. if you dont think you'll have res problems, use fort, though the extra damage isnt that incredible (this is because charge has such huge %dmg already from synergies that an extra 300% doesnt really add that much).

a_drunk_chicken, you mention ber ber coa. res/req ber coa is listed in option 2. you can use ber ber also but you'll have to invest more in str to hit coa's req of 174str and you'll lose out on 15 res. dr-wise, you'll achieve max dr (31coa+15dungo+8coh) whereas you'll be just short if you use res/req (46dr = 23coa+15dungo+8coh). if you think 4 extra dr is worth the loss of 26 stat points (52 health) and 15 additional res, then throw in a second ber. in my experience, the res/req jewel is better. i think most of your other questions have been covered in the thread or in my original post.

Yes, I agree with you there, Because people argue with me about my godly fury druid..i use a 415 Etheral Breath Of The Dying Thunder Maul..which is a two handed wep if your stupid enough not to know that..well when i hit with my "two-handed" weapon i usualy get the result of a 1 hit kill..so i highly recommend you use the decapitator. I have never really tryed using a tow handed weapon for a charger but i'll look into it so ty for the guide its great. wink.gif

Wouldn't a Glorious axe be a better choice then a Decapitator?

Glorious Axe
60 to 124 (92 Avg), 164 str req, 55 dex req, 4 range, 10 base speed

Decapitator
49 to 137 (93 Avg), 189 str req, 33 dex req, 3 range, 10 base speed

you get lower max damage, but you get 11+ min damage, less str = more vita, and one more range

for those intereste in smite/charge hybrid, i made one. i had a lot of success with this build and it addresses a lot of the limitations of pure charge 2hand. i kill barbs more often (walk, smite w/ shift as they whirl through you. you'll take out most bvc's if theyre dumb) and fc javas have become pathetically easy. fair warning, the build is highly bad mannered, but who really cares? heres the gear:

nonlegit
15dr coa w/ 15res/15req jewels
highlord
high +dmg grief zerk/pb (mine hit last smite bp but yours might not - check it via speed calc)
btals w/ ber
uppd hoz w/ um
dracs
ravens x2 (sorb hah)
tgods belt (sorb again)
gores

legit (loses out to nonlegit on sorb/stack res, still quite effective)
15dr coa w/ res/reqs
coh
highlord
grief zerk
hoz w/ ber
15% dungo
raven x2 or raven/wisp
dracs
gores

the build kicks ass. doesnt really need any str. hoz's block req is so low that points wasted on dex are minimal too, meaning that you get 500+ in vitality easily.

skills
max fanat
max holy shield
max smite
max charge
max vigor or might (i chose vigor for ease of movement in town)

remember: you're a SMITER with a strong charge..... DONT play it like a pure charger.
smite vs zons (always!), charge tele sorcs then smite em if they dont tele away, smite barbs while walking to maintain block, smite smiters (err), charge hammerdins (will take 2+ hits), charge then smite asns, charge then smite windies... pretty mindless and pretty effective.

wouldnt slips b nice??

to creekz:: eth glorious axe is great and probably the best but horribly rare.
to lordruke: slips is cool but lacks scaling ds (which is what this build was centered around - give it a shot if your thing is high vita and minimal ds on charge... it really doesnt matter in the long run.)

it all depends on your playstyle. the more i view this build the more i see it as a novelty build. if you like to 1hit many chars - give it a shot. if you're looking to own an entire duel game, look elsewhere.

the thing about jsp forums is that a lot of kids want to find the "kill all" build.... THIS ISNT IT. but its fun if you're just looking for a diversion. im not here to tell you the rape all build... i honestly dont think there is one.

I would imagine a zerker death would not be too far off of the weapon listed?

sadly it is. grief 1h > death 1h.

here is my last modification of the build that allows for 2hand charge / smite. this is my current and *final* build, i wont be dealing with chargers anymore. with this build, unfortunately, you have to prebuff bo then switch in exile / grief, however it addresses limitations of the 1st build (barbs, high defense chars, etc). here is the build:

note: character should be leveled to clvl 90+ to get maximum ds, but high 80's is acceptable.

skills
max charge
max holy shield (this adds WAY more dmg to smite than maxing smite)
max might
max fanaticism
1 into holy freeze (this is a preference of mine, i prefer to use it vs barbs, if you dont use it, stick pts in vigor)
rest into vigor (10-15 invested is a good stopping point, this should be around clvl 92/93, right where 95% ds kicks in coincidentally)

standard equipment
helm: res/req jewel x2 15%dr coa
ammy: highlords
weap1: eth death decapitator 385%
weap2: grief +400 pb or zerk (figure out needed ias if zerk), high defense 1600+ vortex exile (ed/ar or res)
armor: bug tals with a ber
glove: +15str dracs
rings: 2 high ravens
belt: tgods
boot: gores
charms: 20 stat torch / anni.

i recommend a mix of high life pcombs and 32020's to hit close to 4k health. just remember that pcomb lifer = more dmg, less life, less ar, more defense. 3-5 pcombs + 32020s is ideal.

a nice thing about the build is it needs minimal gear swapping. it does well versus nearly every build. however, necro is a special case:
switch in enigma (they tend to use bonewall), switch belt to dungos if game is predominantly melee builds or keep tgods if there are some foh'ers or fc javas

stats:
str: enough for 142 after all your +str from gear (ie dracs / tgods / anni / torch)
dex: enough for block (130ish was what i needed to hit - it depends on your char's level. 40dex from ravens and 40 from torch anni makes this not that big of a deal)
vitality: everything remaining
ene: nothing

final target stats:
---------------------
charge switch:
8,500-25,000dmg, actual dmg of 17,000-50,000 after ds, 2,833-8,333 after pvp penalty (read: ACTUAL dmg on opponent with 0dr)
13k ar
3.8k life roughly.
you charge vs windies, trappers, sorcs, hammers
--------------------
smite switch:
1211-2084 smite dmg (doesnt factor in +400 from grief)
32+k defense (depends on your exile primarily, mine is somewhat low @ 1.6k)
75% max block
3.8k life roughly.
you shift-smite and walk vs barbs and wwsins, you charge then smite zons, you smite any high defense character

the two skills are the perfect complements for eachother. smite has trouble catching a teleporting caster/trapper/hammer/wind druid so a high dmg charge is the obvious answer. charge cannot hit a high defense character with block, fortunately smite ignores defense entirely and locks pesky zon's in dodge animations.

note that it is a pain to have to run to stash and redo bo if you dont die in awhile.

if you want to be SUPER gay (and who doesnt?), you can prebuff bo:
shako + mara + bugtal + 6bo cta + spirit + arach + 2 sojs. this should hit 4k health easily (4.2k is achievable).
then cast your holy shield with a hoto instead of the cta (unless you got a +3bo cta), then swap in exile+grief on one hand and death on the other. then go kick ass.

face a god zealer, ive never lost to charge, id love to duel ya with either of my god pvP zealers. if i catch ya in my range ur gonna have problems since i have 53k def and an ar of 22k. 50% dr and god dmg from 10/70+/40+ gc's and 80%+ ds with a 279%ed edc can hurt.... smile.gif
