in that case are you planning to stat 176 dex on your "godly" smiter?? for max block with a vortex exile?

the general ballpark for dex is about as much as that is required for a grief PB, so with that 136 dex, the block with ST will be more than vortex.. that was the reasoning..

my argument of 400 hp was for hue_two comparing ONLY the defense boost of vortex against the life boost of ST.. it wasn't for an actual character build..



and if you read the first post made by the thread-maker, he wants an exile for a SMITER, hence the arguments and votes.. it isn't for a GM zealer, in which case everyone would be voting for vortex..

If you mean on what gets chosen sure. If you mean on which is better God no. Vortex is vastly superior but yeah idiots are free to wear w/e they want to wear. This isn't even a style thing HS>shield GFX...

Oh yes and as we all know Smiters have an easy time against any barb with a brain who needs thousands of defence?

occasionally ppl make svs paladins (although if built around tap, i dont see the point, regardless...) which means that you can go full vita and use an armor that will benefit you more than enigma for pure svs

for instance, btals or shaft....with both of those options, you get max dr with shako/dungo/armor and you gain more sockets for jah's instead of ber's.

look at is this way...stat breakdown

20 str anni
20 str torch
20 str ammy
25 base str
2 str shako

theres 87 str, just enough to use starge thats noneth

leaves you using ww's, bfist (or a good set of prepatch classic gloves), bk/raven or bk/bk, etc etc so nothing invested into str, just dex for mb if you want it, and more to vita. then you also have an extra jah rune open in your helm (thats also shako instead of coa, needed for max dr with enigma on, even more life there).

if you need to gm, just throw on a spirit starge and voila, no tap gm.

st for block / min dmg
vortex for def / max dmg
