the server down may be because some jackass is ddos'ing the server. or so I heard last night.
idk I havent been on there in ages, sure someone who goes on currently can tell you whats up, try the forums.
sometimes ya gotta deal with that nonsense. =\ bad luck for you sovvy.

Weird I've been playing several several months and haven't ever seen the server down.

Make sure you take a fresh install of D2, copy into a new folder, then put it in there (so you keep original D2 install also).

I respect that you retired after getting slapped to the point of accusing health pots.

Rivals was a mediocre trapper, I've fought plenty that were better
I lost only due to use of health potions, a mod that was turned on half-way through the duel
And his countless line-up of d2jsp multis and ass kissing users that will vouche him in-thread

Even the screenshots posted by these people, were screen shots taken by mods (as listed in the .jpg format)
Go figure



And I didn't quit playing games in general, I just gave up on the d2jsp politics vs. jackasses like Rivals
I don't care enough about #1 ranks and pride duels to download mods & play politics with multis, just to prove a point
Honestly, the game is not fun when the *top ranked duelists* are people who cheat, that's a goddamn joke.
Good old fashioned GM gameplay is just more fun and if you want it, you'll need to go to a different game than Diablo 2

I'll stick to a few other projects as a hobby until D3 and Guild Wars 2

IDK, it may just be me, but it sounds like you come off as somebody who hasn't actually dueled top tier players.
I'm not even trying to troll you with this, it sounds like you've been dueling "ladder's best" and other duelists who don't have the high level experience to give you a competitive match.
It's really obvious from the videos you posted.

I've dueled Rivals twice in the past few days, and he was very GM. Prior to this I do not know him at all, so my opinion of this is not biased.
There are no "politics" in the Strategy and Guide subforum, only being trolled and not allowing yourself to be trolled. You flipped the coin that landed on the wrong side.
