and 700-1000 hmm let's see

a grief does ~ 370 average as minimum (that without additional maxdam from inventory, which does easily put it ofer 400)
15% ds with a normal build (aka no real + skills, no fortitude) has 1000% off weapon ed, so 15% ds are ~ 300% ed

so we are at at least1100 extra damage, let#s throw in a fortitude, so
1300% off weapon ed, aka 15% chance to deal damage with 2800% off weapon ed, aka gulli = 420% off weapon ed
which would easily result in~ 1600 average damage

it seems a bit strange for me to calculate ds as off-weapon ed. lets just simply do it like the game does: overall dmg = on-weapon dmg * (1+ed%) * (1+ds%)
obviously, 15% ds increase overall dmg by 15%, which in case of 400 points of on-weapon dmg and 1000% of off-weapon ed makes 660 points of additional damage (a). with 1300% off-weapon ed it would be 840 points (b).

(a) without ds: 400*(1+1000%) = 400 * 11 = 4400
(a) with ds: 400*(1+1000%)*(1+15%) = 400 * 11 * 1.15 = 5060

(b) without ds: 400*(1+1300%) = 400 * 14 = 5600
(b) with ds: 400*(1+1300%)*(1+15%) = 400 * 14 * 1.15 = 6440

mh, of course the game doesnt calculate it like that, there it is either normal damage or double damage with a certain percentage. but to calculate an average, you will end up right where i picked up.

you see, I simply use a different calculation, whcih still is alright.

if you have 1000% off weapon ed, you weapon damage will be multiplied by a factor or 11
a deadly strike with that means a multiplication by by a factor of 22

since you have a certain chance to get this multiplier
aka 15% to deal damage with 2200% weapon damage
you get
22*15=330
thus 330% ed

1 doubt your 1+15% is right there because a deadly strike is the chance to double and then you have to get it all in the right order aka
average damage calculated in a series of 100 strikes

ok, now i get it, and i see your mistake in it. speaking in your words, u got a 15% chance to do 1100% of additional off-weapon dmg, which makes an average of 165%. the key word here is "additional", as we dont want to calculate the overall damage but rather the difference between damage without ds (aka 1100%) and with ds (aka 2200%).

if u take 100 hits, u will have an average of 85 doing regular damage and 15 doing double damage. thus the overall damage of those 100 strikes will be (regulardmg*85)+(regulardmg*15*2) = regulardmg * (85+15*2) = regulardmg * 115. and thats exactly 15% more than 100 strikes of regular damage.

As achim is trying to tell you, one must consider the weighted average,

((100-15)*11 + 15*22)/100 = 12.65 (~ +1165%)

Thus, with 1000% off-weapon ED, 15% DS is equivalent to +165% off-weapon ED.
