Your best bet versus whirlwind Barbarians is probably just to choose your angles more carefully. You should easily be outranging them so you should be able to get your jabs in from a far.
I’d stick with Wolf because you’d lose a lot of mobility by switching to Bear. That mobility is too valuable especially when trying to outrange a whirlwind Barbarian.
Oak is king but maybe throwing in a Feral Rage with Rabies would help you too. The boosts to FRW will certainly help.
I mean, putting 20 to summons grizzly(to make grizzly & wolves have more life, combined with the extra life from oak base 20 instead of 1).
That way they will "absorb" more wirl hits and i will be less fhr'd.
Frw is fine, more would ofc never hurt. But on my 100fcr valk setup all is "str gliched/from invent" except for HL, and on diadem setup total of 60frw is not gliched. But i teleport a lot also, often very effective to jump babas with full wolves zoo

The fact that i almost never use rabies is that with my eq which isen't rabies setup the dmg is just to low, it might force an ele dudu or nec to be more offensive, but usually i can catch them rather decent. Ofc very nice vs assa though, those can be hard to reach.
So basicly i dont see any point in having a 19k rabies dmg with valk setup as 1 single fury hit deals the same without amp. Then i guess my survavilibilty would be much improved by adding 38 more skills to summon grizzly and oak.
Yes i guess i must choose better angle's vs them as you say, but its hard when they jump me forexample in tvt xD The bvc on this realm is minimum 63fcr build, often 105 xD
