fhr was def not needed in smite vs smite back in 2012 when I quit d2lod and is also not mandatory now in d2r smite vs smite, it can help vs random firestorm procs tho (tested with all fhr caps up to 48), but with 2.4 changes it will be completely obsolete I guess.

I just know about legacy d2 in 2017+ and the exact patch when they screwed it up.

I’m sure fhr won’t be needed and for d2r especially after 2,4 I’d aim for something like:

Jstod ber’s up to 50% dr rest 40/20 or even 30 ed 9 str 9 dex 10 life jewel or as budget 40 ed 9 dex if block is needed.

Steelrend or craft gloves (tbh top stat ring + rends > craft gloves + bk, unless u need the ias to cover a certain higher level of holy freeze)
Eni dusk
2 pala 20 fcr amu (dex str life whatever)
10 fcr stat ring

Heck even everyone hating on zaka being bad for svs, I don’t think it’s bad especially on a multihybrid char since it boosts foh or charge ar/dmg and even +2 holy freeze for extra range

Smite dmg might be lower on zaka but it has other purposes

zaka is still a cheap and viable choice, especially in VT vs VT matchups since the convicition bug is still present in d2r where higher level conviction negates lower level conviction completely, meaning when you play vs another VT and let's say you have lvl 15 conviction and your enemy does have lvl 16 conviction and you both attack with foh/conv at the same time and both apply conv to eachother, your foh dmg is like you dont have any conv active, but the enemies conv procs on you, so in conclusion you want to aim for same or higher level conviction as your enemy and therefore use zaka or at least +2 rare shield in that match up.

other than that imho phoenix will be the new arena king in 2.4 because the firestorm proc of it will not longer break your smite burst, now think of the smite dmg when using forti and phoenix, thats + 765% ed...

my 2.4 item suggestion would be

grief pb
coa berber
phoenix st knights / res mod (465ed / 400ed 45res)
waterwalks
dungo
crafted 20ias
eni / forti
pala stats ammy / maras
bk / stats ring + raven

if you want telesmites switch gloves for trangs and/or use fcr rings/ammy depending on desired fcr, 48 should be max possible then while maintaining high dr.

Ah yea forgot about the Phoenix stuff, btw u don’t need cnbf for svs since god ba with freeze target * (which applies to stun) doesn’t exist, the only way to get frozen is vs charge which is for an insanely short duration with max cr. And tbh the only palas really “intentionally” hitting are v/c’s, so I’d only use cnbf vs them

In general bk+ stat ring just gives a lot more value, or double Bk or double stat ring, whatever you need tbh
