This.

I would - thinking the whole thing through again - definitely drop Raven and get an FCR Ring + higher FCR Amu to reach 117 FCR.

cnbf will only be helpful while slowd via Holy Freeze or when a Cold Enchanted boss explodes. Vs. both possibilities, there's one thing that is efficient: Doing what a Sorc does best --> killing fast from a distance!
Cold Nova from exploding monsters should NEVER reach you and Holy Freeze wears off once the monster is killed. Also, except for walking and IAS, cnbf won't influence any other animations (FHR, FBR, etc), so it would never be deadly to be frozen. As a last resort, you could re-position yourself via Teleport if there is any danger.

In fact, CBF is impervious to Cold Enchanted as well. Only HF bypasses it. The only reason I see Raven working on a Sorceress is because of the +20 Dexterity which in the case of HC would work to the benefit of MB.

117% FCR is mandatory. In terms of long runs or great amount of runs, the number of teleports and casts can be numbered in the hundreds, which would mean an enormous amount of time and damage lost because of a single frame. You don't see it after 1 or 2 runs, but you would see it after 500 runs.

You could definitely switch out Dwarf/Raven for 10fcr rings, but I prefer the safety over a 1-frame faster Lightning. I play intoxicated a lot and would rather not die than speed up the runs slightly. If anything I'd switch out CoH for Viper and get a 2%+ fcr ammy w/ better stats for the price.

Plus, being Cold in town pisses me off so I'd end up 'Cham'ing something if I replaced the Raven.

Basically, how I see it:

Helm: Griffon's
Armor: ???
Amulet: ???
Rings: Dwarf/???
Boots: Hotspurs
Gloves: ???
Belt: Tgod's
Shield: Stormshield
Weapon: HotO 40

All the ???'s are negotiable.

First of all: Complements to the author

Second: What skills will be used?

I think just normal light build

or also use Energy shield?

Never, I repeat, never under any circumstances should you use ES on a hc charactor. Especially a budget sorc.

ES imo is strictly a PvP skill and requires a deep wallet to use it effectively in PvM and in PvP.

first sorc to hit 99 a few years ago on euhc used es

but you contradicted yourself anyway - "never use es" and "requires a deep wallet to use in pvm"

i would only use es on an insight sorc though i.e. a cold sorc

That means absolutely nothing, since they could've easily been using chicken and god knows what other hacks.

On HC a single bad tele into a mana burn group with an ES sorc = the end. Even with insight.

if you dont compromise your life in any way, getting mana burnt with es is exactly the same as getting mana burnt with no es

Oh, I thought you were talking about a full ES build (95%es + max tk), which obviously requires that you invest heavily in mana at the cost of life. 1 point ES is fine (although not really necessary and sometimes a bit annoying since it drains the mana you need for attacks).
