So if some1 else is doing some mathematics for the lazy people you call it "boring" and "3rd grad calculations", but your blabbering and calculations of grief dmg (which you repeat every topic some1 is asking for) are not "boring" and "3rd grade stuff"??
What a donkey lol
Oh no. I never said that I wasn't at fault. I do a lot of the boring stuff, too. But there are also times that I do some interesting stuff that I don't end up posting on a forum, which would be because no one ever bothers with the same stuff I do.
As for Grief, there are a whole lot of stupid people who don't understand the math, but at least they will understand the multiplier. If not, then there is truly something gone wrong. And I'm not talking about just missing a few classes in elementary school.
You see, there are people who tend to credit me for the math, but I don't think there is a single time I've said that the math I've ever "published" was complicated at all. Because the way I see it is if I can do it, it's not complicated. After all, I am just a high school kid.

On a sidenote, the only other time I've seen Olba argue with someone (or post at length at all, for that matter) was regarding some guy's fissure build. Granted the build was rather mediocre, but olba presented pretty shoddy reasoning for why it was mediocre. I pointed this out in a PM wanting to engage him in discussion and he never answered, I gave up after two PM's =\
It's not that you did not give up, I just never replied. And I found replying to you pointless since you're obviously dead set on being right with zero intention of changing your opinion. Which means all that I say is just a way of spending time for you.

This guide is great IMO, as it serves to inform the reader in a relatively concise manner. Sure, the mathematics involved aren't very complex - but what if one had simply never considered creating a mathematical function to determine the point for Sur = Psap? Personally it had simply never occured to me, and I had just calculated it on a case-by-case basis. Fael's taken a common question, "Which is better, Psap or Sur," and given the average player an easy means of determining which is superior, along with the justification for said means - and along with that justification Fael gives the entry-level gamer the concept of gaming-math. The point of the example which you called a "waste of time" is to show someone who's interested in figuring out how he concluded "Psap>Sur up to 759 life."
Ah yes, there are usually two kinds of people. Ones cannot do the math, the others cannot bother with it. To me, I knew that there had to be a a solution and an exact formula, but I just never saw any personal use for it and thus never bothered to do it myself.

Just because the guide seems to detail calculations too much for your tastes doesn't mean it warrants criticism..
I don't mind detailed calculations or focus on calculations. I like them.
As for criticism, unless Fael is god or godlike, he makes mistakes. And mistakes are found via criticism. For example, over-assumptions are very common. Development is what matters. And criticism, if objective and factual, gives a push to that development. Thus, it matters.
Just because some teacher is telling me that my essay sucks does not mean I would stop writing essays for the rest of my life. Heck, just because some teacher gave me a D on geometry does not mean I will stop doing geometry.

You may dislike the guide as much as you want. Boring or whatever. In fact, I never expected everybody to appreciate it, as there is nothing revolutionary about the content. Even then, a large number of players are unaware of it. The least we can do is share the information. Some will understand, others will not. And those who understand are likely to put it into practical use.
Of course there are people who are unaware of things. Hell, most people don't give a damn about maths and will just do whatever a guide states them to do. That makes sense, you know. After all, if something goes wrong, they can then justify placing blame on the guide.

Subsequently using the guide to express your general view of the public being lazy or stupid while boasting about some of your own mathematical achievements ... exactly how relevant are they ?
If anything, it amounts to a display of sheer arrogance.
Oh, just because this happens to be the first time I've said that majority are lazy does not mean I didn't think so before. And I doubt I've boasted about any of my mathematical achievements so far. As for relevancy of my math, it shows that I do math too and thus my criticism or comments should be more valuable than those of some random drop out who just punched the numbers into a calculator and realized that it works. And no, I'm not saying that all drop outs suck in math. Just that it's more likely that they do than that they don't. And that's simply because math is nasty and people hate it.

You could at least seem less silly by acknowledging that the guide is not pointless.
So, you want me to admit that there is a point to the guide? Oh yeah, it has a purpose to exist. You want me to admit that it has value? Oh yeah, it does. But exactly because these factors are true, I don't see why you're acting like it means anything. Actually, I'm even surprised you didn't just dismiss me as a crazy geek right away. Oh, why did you not ignore me?
