Flaming Rabies is viable today but was MUCH more so using the Carrion glitch.
I would barely call it viable at this point though, the main thing with fireclaw build is that it eats up WAY too many points :/

cool guide but i think your strategies are a bit off. you say for both bone necs and psn necs to play defensively, pretty hard to do when you're the melee... no decent nec is gonna tele on a fc druid. they will just sit a screen or so away spamming at you and everytime you try and get close they'll tele. not to mention stack/sorb. i couldn't see this build beating either type of nec you say are easy.
I don't say play defensively, but let them play offensively xD What I mean by this is basically start defensively until they get aggressive. Unless the necro uses aa he will not hit you with many when you are running from him and even if he thinks bone prison is gm, it takes only 1 hit to knock it down. Massing bp is basically the only way any bone necro will kill you unless they want a 10 minute fight of just 4 screening invis bone spirits at you haha..
Also the thing with poison necros is that his range is minimal compared to spirits and spears, and the only problem I've ever had with bone necs is getting close to them at times, with poison necs they do the work for me

are you kidding? even if they don't know how to duel fc druids specifically, which most do, they will know how to duel melee... i would say that 99% of necs, pubby or not, know how to duel ss druids. melee = stay away and every nec knows that.
This isn't a typical melee as you think of it though, imagine a bear running SO FAST that when you prison him he is already out of it, desynching his way out. when you duel fireclaw bears you gotta think of it more like a charger if he has enough frw stacked
