Answer: Treachery is simply better than Fortitude. In ~80% of all cases when raw damage is applied, and better in ALL cases in which CB is applied. In the eventuality of killing a mob, Treachery kills faster. It also makes for a better shell for the mercenary to be a stronger tank.

Was the venom proc taken into account here? I can't seem to find any mention of it with the treachery info?

no i think that's 787.5 dps you can add. but we are talking here about 30k+ phys dps and that's the main dps

I have not check the calculation, but the main problem is %CTC fade. I've seen games and games where merc doesn't cast it...

So a little IAS vs hard hard lower ias weapon hit and a lot of deffense. Effectiveness depends probably where you run with him...
I got also in game play testing where merc was a disaster, but when I put forty on him it cleared all my problems. Mainly not dieing all the time.

Your personal experience has nothing to do with mathematical proof. Where you're just one saying it doesn't proc, I have 10 other guys on my side saying it does. Same goes for how well treach mercs do for people when fort mercs completely suck for them.

Do I win? Do you? Nay. Numbers win.

It doesn't proc in short runs, that's why i socket the helmet with an UM rune. This way the merc only hits 6 fpa (thresher/gt), but he starts with maxed resist (on lvl96) before fade triggers (and you can also socket your weapon with a ber/lo sg.)
