hmm at first this guide overwhelms you with amount of informations and makes u think 'omgawd shaelthullem = oozomest armour evah!'
but than doubts starts to hount ur mind...

Basicly what iv figured out is that treach beats fort only in few situations, like:
-Baaling Hdin who need great support vs 2nd wave (merc will be under decrep almost whole time so ias + fade will be essential). BTW!!! somebody should have mentioned that CHAM'd Gulli is A MUST cuz those cold mages will slow him down too much - people underestimates 'cbf factor... imo every merc should have that cuz it increases survivability and amounts of hits he does!
-Some of chars got great AOE spells which ownz crowd but are weak vs bosses -than a lot of often-triggering crushing blow merc is needed (a lot of ias + cb) example: psn nec, bowa, etc.
-Some chars which dmg bases on curse casted from merc (than as much hits and possible are wanted so the curse will trigger faster), like ele druids and their merc with decrep/amp weapon.

but most of the time merc will be holding infi or insi and the most importat thing will be to keep him alive cuz conv/might are our main supporting auras,
and than imo forts life + def + res boost + better leeching cuz of dmg + cold armour slowing ability beats treacherys stats. Keep in mind that we have only 5% to cast fade and if it doesnt trigger than merc has only ~50resi, a lot less dmg and def... If merc isnt close combat oriented than chance of triggering it per run are just too small to even considering treach as a good arm (if u are any type of caster u probably tele around like mad so u and ur merc/zoo wont get hit too often = no chance for fade).

So summing up - imo fort (especially eth) is safer choice and more 'allaround', but we shouldnt forget about treach cuz for particular builds it may be more effective

Not to mention chilling armor
This does a great deal to defend against missle attacks that would normally chew your mercinary before he gets to leech

haven't read all comments, but i have made some calculations as well and came to the conclusion that for
hammerdin
Insight GT / Andy(ias-jooled)

Forti
is better.

I tried to follow your calculation but I have this problem:
Damage with Concentration aura per hit
Forti
Quote
Damage : 3294 - 9384 (6339 Avg.)

Treachery
Quote
Damage : 3059 - 8715 (5887 Avg.)


That's 7.7% more for forti.

With 239 Str, 570ed Conv aura, 250ed Might Aura
A Simple Calculation Leads to
(3.39 + 3 + 5.7 + 2.5)/(3.39 + 5.7 + 2.5) = 126% -> 26% Damageboost
Without Conc and/or Might aura the Boost is even bigger!

I Think your calculation has some flaws.

By the way, CA/CV has more dps, since it has a break point at exactly 35 ias, with you just reach.


Nevertheless If you use a CB-weapon, treachery can be better, since you have higher weapon speed. The question what is better depends on the monster you fight. I use Infinity Tresher/Treachery/Andy-jeweled for my summoner Nec because of that. He kills bosses like Baal quite fast.

on light sorc u have a stable merc with forti, which should be all you want

on blizz wave 2 you want treachery, maybe same on pala

Here my calculation
Settings:
- Perf Insight CA/GP/GT
- Forti/Treachery
- Andy 15ias
- Hammerdin 600ed Conc
- Might aura 250ed
- Only considered physical damage
- Not cursed/frozen

I calculated with auras because treachery benefits more from auras and forti looks still better with them.



Forti:
CA - Blue
GP - Yellow
GT - Purple

Treachery:
CA - Red
GP - Green
GT - Orange


Focus should be at 35 IAS.
CA/CV reaches just the break point to a faster speed and leads in DPS! With Forti ofc
