also question...
better to use a lo/lo circlet or use wisp? calculation wise, they come out the same, no?
Obviously assuming maxed res with LoLo I think the damage calcs would be:
(x damage dealt by enemy)
85% resistance means x*(1-0.85)=0.15x <<-- pretty simple.
75% res and 20% absorb:
0.25x after res. this is then used to heal you 20% of the damage left and reduce it by 20 percent and heals you that same amount:
(1-0.2)*0.25x-0.2*0.25x=0.15x
So it seems they offer the same damage reduction. The absorb mechanics is kinda confusing but it is possible to die before the healing reduces it. Meaning you will first take 0.2x damage and then get 0.05x life back, or something along those lines. If that first damage kills you you will die even though you would have survived with the higher res. I would think its a matter of what will loose you the most in terms of other stats, switching circ or ring..
Now I have a question of my own. I have a hybrid sin who wants advice on socket useage. My sin has the following resistances (no rased caps, just a little bit of stacking) with fade but without anya: 86/123/96/46. I'm at 65 fcr, maxed trap speed, currently at 35% DR at this set-up (have a COA for a 47DR% setup, at the cost of that little stack, might also respec for 50 DR%). what do shall I socket the circ with? My amu is a 2/16 with no adds worth mentioning but would I still be better off to just use the COA? I loose about 150 life by using it now... some advice would be much appreciated!
thx in adv.!
