Although I suspect that if I did attempt to use andys face with this setup:
Andys face (+ ias jewel) + Treachery + Infinity
It would lose to:
G face + CoH + Infinity.
I say "suspect". I'm not sure at this moment. So I will test it and see what happens...the great thing about this game is...what looks good and expensive on paper, when tested; isn't necessarily what I expect.
I will test the treachery v coh idea further and see how this goes.
I mean in principle; take the example above with the act 5 merc. His attack speed, is less than the act 2 merc jab skill. So...lets ask John.L...
How long does it take your merc to kill baal in an 8 player game? He may have 100% cb (lw/fort/g face) v. bosses, but how often/quickly does he connect with his attacks? I assume you use the battle cry (if yes, what level?) to lower enemy defence here.
I'm wondering how 100% cb on an act 5 merc compares to 75% cb on an act 2 jab skill might merc...with infinity in a giant thresher, plus g face (socketed with an ias jewel) and treachery (45% ias + 20% fhr). This meets the maximum attack speed breakpoint IF I use beast.
If I had a ww barb, I may also lean towards MatedeVitas suggestion of an act 2 merc with reapers toll...
If you have wealth to spare, I wonder how this compares, to a brand bow runeword wielding act 1 rogue merc? I should imagine you would have no problems in having amp dmg to cast, but I wonder if you can keep your rogue merc alive long enough to benefit without enigma to teleport her to safety - probably not I guess.
When I saw your post I immediately thought of an act 2 might merc with pride to boost your ww damage...however its very hard to suggest these things because we don't know what your barb uses...(?)
Before we continue to suggest stuff, what IS your barb gear?
