that's wrong? Then what would you choose?
i gave 2 scenarios, 1) the boss has 50%dr, 2) the boss has 0%dr
in scenario 1 (against 50%dr), would you take amp or dmg times 2.5?
in scenario 2 (against 0%dr), would you take amp or dmg times 2.5?
attack dmg = 100 // monster has 50% dr // effective dmg = 50If choose Amp -> Triples attack from 50 to
150 winner
If choose 2.5x -> 50 x 2.5 =
125attack dmg = 100 // monster has 0% dr // effective dmg = 100If choose Amp -> Doubles attack from 100 to
200If choose 2.5x -> 100 x 2.5 =
250 winner
conclusionsNice little riddle. Shows that more dmg reduction always means less dmg taken (ignoring exceeding certain caps), and that the effectiveness of amp is most noticeable on 50 %DR builds.
100dmg attack0% DR = 100dmg -> with amp 200dmg (x2.00)
10% DR = 90dmg -> with amp 190dmg (x2.11)
20% DR = 80dmg -> with amp 180dmg (x2.25)
30% DR = 70dmg -> with amp 170dmg (x2.43)
40% DR = 60dmg -> with amp 160dmg (x2.67)
50% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 150dmg (
x3.00)
60% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 140dmg (x2.80)
70% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 130dmg (x2.60)
80% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 120dmg (x2.40)
90% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 110dmg (x2.20)
100% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 100dmg (x2.00)
110% DR = 50dmg -> with amp 90dmg (x1.80)
