I'd also take out Wizzy and use Branch there... +40 Life, + free socket, + no Dex Req. = like 100+ Life, same FCR, same effective Resistances (Light Sorcs will, like you, not pierce for more than -20%, so it's easy to keep the 85 Res up...) and more Dmg from +1 skill... there isn't anything more you could ask for...
At the same time, TG's = 20 STR = max. 10 less STR than you might get from a 10 FCR Craft (which I consider superior to Arach with the right stats), so there shouldn't be any problem equipping Spirit after switch when you already have items that give STR...

BTW. I just saw that you have 156 STR... why not use an eth Monarch? You say your Sorc is for SvS... it's not like the Monarch will break too fast there^^

in SvS, having Max Res = staple ofc...

This is easily done with the items you'd wear anyways, like Viper, your Circ, Spirit, charms, etc...

Everything you gain in top of that, aka +Max Res. or Absorb (which luckily co-exist on TG) is a HUGE Advantage ImO... so being able to equip a TG and still having 200 FCR is pretty damn nice. To manage this, you simply NEED 50 FCR from your weapon, which HotO cannot provide...

Wizzy has high Res that we don't need (vs. Light/Fire), high Mana that we even need less (as a Vita Sorc) and high Dex Reqs. we don't WANT... so I agree, Wizzy is not an option vs. Light.
Shard has enough Resists, but does neither give +skills, nor Life, nor anything else useful...

Branch = best option and - depending on personal taste - in many cases even superior to an Arach/HotO-build... you effectively trade +2 skills vs. 180 BO'able Life (in MY setup, not in the one in this guide)... UNLESS ofc you use the Oak charges, which I'd consider BM...

Also, I agree on the Boots part... Hots = 1 piece of sorb that is allowed on all chars (except ES Sorcs in some leagues I guess)... and they have it ALL:
+ Max. Fire Resists, + Fire Resists to actually make use of it and on top of that LIFE... gg boots for any setup vs. Fire...

Btw, don't ever try to compare s-branch/wizzy to hoto. they don't even surpass eschuta, which is another dumb weapon choice.

And still, ImO in SvS, a 200 FCR TG/Branch combination (attacking with either Fire or Light, doesn't really matter) played by the same player and vs. the same player in all matches will rule supreme vs. a 200 FCR HotO/Arach (NOT using charges ofc) combination duelling the same Light Sorc.

That's my point.

Ofc in general and in pubs and in SvA or whatever one might call it, HotO/Arach are a good combination (although I still consider the Life more important on a Vita-Sorc... she will have decent FB Dmg either way...), I'm not trying to say something else :-)
