Yes, I understand all of your stated points. I wasn't trying to disapprove its validity -- all I am stating is that your equipment choices are a tad expensive, and can be greatly enhanced by switching out a few of your proposed gears with cheaper, more cost effective gears (ex: Dragon with Duress, Crescent Moon with Hand of Justice, ...)

Lastly, you have to take into consideration that there will be players with different methods of playing, that means consequently there will be players playing with multiple copies of Diablo 2 running. Meaning that there will be people who will join their own games with their other copies of Diablo 2 in order to boost up the numbers of item drops per monsters, meaning that a game consisting of 1 player will yield far less drops then say a game consisting of 4 players (or even 8 players.)

Again, I was not discrediting your guide or anything, rather pointing out the weak points in your guide.

True but making all of your items make them cheaper, thanks for the critisism tho.

I don't understand what you are trying to clarify with that particular sentence...

However, we can both agree on the fact that Dragon and HoJ is completely unnecessary and unneeded -- right?

Awesome, I was wondering when some one was going to open up Pandora's box.

Well there is some equip that I disagree on -- probably because I am cheap, and probably because I use my paladin to kill Diablo Clones and Ubers. Here's the things I do want to point out: the Dragon is completely unnecessary. With level 20 Conviction combined with Crescent Moon you will be able to break all immune and add an additional -35% lightning resistance. This by itself is more than adequate for MFing even with players 8 activated.

Also, magic find isn't actually necessary so long as you are able to load up additional players into your game in order to max out your item drop potential.

Well, here's my set up.

As posted in the quote above: the Dragon is completely unnecessary (and so is the Hand of Jordan which I forgot to add.) The items that I replaced are much cheaper alternatives to the ones that you propose, these alternatives also allows to tackle other aspect of PvM, primarily the DClones and Ubers.

sigh

fire aura does shit damage, run the numbers, you'll see it to be true
lowering enemy lit res beyond what conv can do vs naturally immunes with crescent moon >> dank fire aura

burning soul has 110 lit res, conviction kicks in, he now has (110 - 150/5) = 80 lit res
20% of the lit damage is inflicted
add crescent moon
110 - 150/5 -35 = 45
55% of the lit dmg is inflicted, thats more than doubling nearly tripling your effective damage...

and for other monsters it pushes them further to the -100 side of the scale and even works on the ones that are out of range of the conviction aura!!!

i'de probably use something like coh or fort myself.. but in reality anything will do, and if you stick a facet in it, BAM

dream bv
dream shield
nig
mf/mara ammy
nagel
nagel
goldwrap
wartravs
2x isted baba
chancies
cta
bo spirit
torch
anni
mfscs

merc:
ebug treachery
dream helm
eth infinity

self stack only works if you are wearing 2 aura'd items (ie. dreamx 2)
nn fire, its a waste
max lite res, conviction, salvation, hs...rest in fant (for smiting lite immunes)

mainly merc kills immunes in 5-10 seconds for bosses....you should break the immunity on everything else
you can smite w/ fant to help him
charge around w/ conviction on and shit dies in 1-2 pulses after only 10 stacks

clear chaos in under a minute unless you get super-unique lite immunes...then add 15-20 seconds

advantages:
much more mf
nig=tele (and mf)
some cheaper

it works.

I just tried this and it really works. Self stack, if 1.13 doesn't fix this... You should pay for a title and take into consideration about dream setup being faster.

I just tested that self-stacking method in SP and it appears to work.
