Is there any merit to some people's claim that bits of fire damage mixed into your melee attacks can increase the likelihood of fhr animations to occur?

i used to play aow and euro-pvp leagues back in the days, i dont even know what gm is and neither the rules. i found this thread though:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=31792077&f=147

are those still the latest rules? it says wolves, and ravens are legit and even re-castable. if its not up to date please link me to the latest ruleset. also i coudlnt find anything about "gm" in the first post.

"click and hold duels"? lol

besides that i even stated that only zealots will give melee druids trouble. only zealots with concentration aura switch though.

This is gm melee guide not pub and a good gm zealot will win 99 percent of the time against fury using fanaticism only

It used to do an animation glitch in patch 1.09d which made using a fire damage small charm useful. The triple animation glitch for fire no longer occurs.

Both at lvl 99 with top end gear it will be more like 60/40.

FoC has a ber in it so it frees up a slot for a jewel if you want to wear a crafted blood belt. It's not necessary and some leagues don't allow hybrid runewords.

Without FoC you have two options:

Verdungoes belt and jewels in your shield and helm - this is the higher raw damage/attack rating path (suggest ed/ar/str/dext or fhr/ed/str/dext)
24 fhr Blood belt and ber in shield and helm - this is the higher life and open wounds path.

Honestly it depends on what venue I am dueling in. If I'm mostly fighting paladins and barbs, the blood belt/open wounds path is best. If I'm mostly fighting other wolves, the higher damage path is best because you want more chances to place them into hit recovery.

For public dueling, you will need to add a longer range two handed weapon and resistances to the mix. Extra run speed is also helpful.

Etomb is useful mostly for fighting sorceresses and necromancers (although necromancers are the hardest/nearly impossible duel for a fury or any straight melee in general).

Ebotd greatpolexe is great vs smiters, hammerdins, wind druids, and the occasional BvC, although I generally prefer a shield vs barbs. You'll need to pair this with a ber'd shaftstop (and any helm, jalals vs windy, cerebus vs smite is my go-to) OR berber CoA with either enigma or FoC. I personally use a btals that I've had forever, but I don't think this is reasonable to expect anyone else to have. Especially not for a fury wolf.

Run/res small charms should fill your bottom row vs sorcs, javas, anything elemental that teleports (it's best to have a run/cold res set for just dealing with bliz/orb sorcs. You can usually stack against lighting with just items). Smiters, hammerdins, wind druids, and barbs will all come to you so you don't need any run speed at all. You just need to get good at using the shift key and staying at the edge of your weapon range.
