This is close to what I was using.

My hotkeys were:

A-Fanaticism
S-Vigor
D-Meditation
Z-Smite
X-Charge
F1-BO
F2-BC
F3-HS

You might want to add salvation, sanctuary or redemption, it's up to you.

Nice guide and small question: which shield would you reccomend making exile in? Vortex seems to be the most popular choice, but I have no idea why since it has lower block chance. So if i got a normal 40@ ST would it also work well?
Another thing is I plan to make mostly orgset runs, and thus using enigma to make them faster - would you reccomend any gear changes for that purpose?

And sorry for these naive questions, but you know, I discovered d2 4 months ago and never had a smiter before.

Vortex has the highest max damage, sacred targe has the best blocking chances and zakarum shield has the most constant damage. I would suggest using one of those.

You may stash an enigma, but I suggest using a hammerdin or a sorceress to teleport if you have one.

Yeah, well the avarage dmg from all these shields is roughly the same, and that's what matters, so I chose eth ST and while it has 'only' 1k def I still have 18k def total and that's more than enough for pvm. So I saved lots of stat points by using this ST compared to vortex, and also by using enigma BP I didn't have to put a single point in STR. Sure the tele speed is slow, but it works allright, especially in Matron's Den when you get swarmed it allows you to get over hordes quickly. Also great help when fighting IZU, since he can tele as well and you can easily tele out from oblivion knights and their IM, while Izu follows you :]
