this guide's helped me build a pretty sick frenzy barb (max dmg-build)
still a few things i'm skeptical/unsure of...
1. arreats/guillames. i use arreats because of the +45 res, +4 frenzy, and ll. does the deadly strike and crushing blow w/ guillames really work more effectively than the 4 extra skill pts arreats gives me?
2. i use ravenfrost and the angelic combo. i can't imagine losing the epic ar bonus from the angelic combo. is my only real alternative to get a rare dual-leech/ar ring + metalgrid and charms?
3. dracs/laying of hands. i really dig dracs because of the str, ll, and open wounds bonuses. why switch to laying of hands?
4. leech... if i get rid of dracs and arreats, i lose all of my ll. i suppose i could make the switch and get a dual-leech/ar ring... i guess i'm wondering what a solid amount of ll on a character is. is it overkill to try and get a lot? is 6-8 enough?
thx
1, yes, guilly >
2, if you use grief, then ar is not an issue unless you are fighting a boss, highlords is your damage friend conveniently with lit res, dual leach ring is gg and you can get some ar on them as well
3, loh add considerable amounts of damage to demons and fire resists as well as ias to stack
okay, now the 45 res from arreats is blown out of the water
are you aware that crit doubles your screen damage? and that cb is highly effective against bosses as it does damge based on how much life they have?
4, why arent you getting leach from a belt like nossi or soe?
i have a total of 12 ll on a build who has 2600 life and find it ample
barbs have enough tactical skills to make it so that playstyles is more important than the stats on your gear
i can't tell you how many times i've just rushed into a room full of baddies that would have eaten me alive, but you have skills to overcome this instead of just relying on brute force
and in turn, you will find yourself killing faster because you wont be using those crutches like last wish
leap or ww through gobs of monsters to get to a safer place, howl them away from you, kill one and set up a grim ward
lemme tell you, a couple well placed grim wards will have the room full of monsters running for their lives and you wont need any ll to take them out cuz they're too busy trying to get through the corner
