the funny thing is this is like one of those situations that a math teacher puts on the board for 5th graders to really blow their minds. all the kids say "that's impossible it cant be triple, thats more than double". then the teacher holds their hands through the whole thing and the class goes wild at the big reveal.

There is no incorrect reference points, you're just looking at it wrong.

You're comparing how much dmg you'd take if you had 50 Dr vs 0 Dr. Everyone else is comparing how much dmg you'd take if amp'd on two separate values of DR. In one case you take Double the dmg when amp'd than you would when not amp'd. In another case you take triple the dmg when amp'd than you would take when not amp'd.

maybe instead of just looking like a fucking idiot you could quote my post where i laid it out and tell us all where its wrong. instead of being a simpleton who just repeats "double is less than triple" as your face grows increasingly more red.

The amount of people not understanding the base amounts changed while using the phrasing of "double damage" and "triple damage" is hilarious and sad at the same time.

then you shouldn't be using double and triple in comparative terms to eachother,

the education standards in the states is very low, you end up with a bunch of duncecaps who think they are so smart

They are comparative if it's between 0 DR and 50% DR with amp.

In fact, you are one of the duncecaps.

no einstein,

if you are saying "double" , double what?? the BASE dmg your referring to,
then if you say "triple" the damage, then triple the orginal damage, you cant change variables like that

It's double what you WOULD TAKE, not just the base.

With 0 DR you'd take 1,000 and with amp you'd take 2,000 which is DOUBLE
With 50 DR you'd take 500, and with amp you'd take 1,500 which is TRIPLE

We are talking about Base damage after taking DR into account.
