the def reduction basicly only helps against casters with no source of edef% and they have pretty lowish def anyway. now it obviously does help to cloak them too but an extra 15% doesn't do that much there anymore
and well it helps against palas and barbs too of course but its not that huge difference
I must admit that i never tested this
anyone did and check the difference in numbers?

yes it does if you caught him and placed more than 1 hit (which will most likely be his end)
but if you only managed to hit him once and he gets off its more dmg
