Also, what about adding a few more points of frenzy to increase attack speed?
Str and dex add the same to your throw damage. Supposed to be, I think, .5% ed per point.

I even left a bunch of skill points free, so they could add even more ar from skills, if they want it.
I think I left like 40 stat points, too...they can boost both ar and damage if they want to...

I don't remember all the numbers off the top of my head from so long ago.
It should be cold on the resistance thing, but it's at like 50, 60 % (or should be?). But, you also get 20% cold absorb from raven frost, so you're golden. Plus, there isn't very much of any cold damage that will be hitting you. wink.gif

IK boots - I read your description of why gores etc are crap.  Since I don't exclusiely need the 40% frw, could I sub in some boots with dex to make up for the AR on IKs?  Seems like hard points in dex are actually better than straight AR.  I'm thinking waterwalks or shadows could work...

Also, im having trouble placing my last 12 or so skill points.  How necessary are the +8 Leap and +9 Howl?  Im debating dumping my remaining points into frenzy as I seem to use it alot (don't have 2X lacerator + warshrike yet).

Speed is deadly; don't sacrifice it.
Keep your fcr one from spirit (plus, you'd lose skills which effect your defense, life, mana, res, leap, etc).
And what will redemption do for you? You only kill 3 monsters in the whole chaos; plus, switching to wait for redemption is a giant time waste.
I stated already that you do so much damage that you can usually just teleport onto Infector's pack and then just throw and leech life to the point that you're not getting hurt.

Not using enigma = losing massive life and you wouldn't be able to wear most of your gear.

I don't remember the amount of ar you get from dex vs. hard ar.

Yes, 8 leap/9howl is a MUST, like I've posted 50 times by now...I even made a picture in paint on how it works and all that...
Adding more than one point into frenzy is a total waste. You only have for the time while your standing in the Throne of Destruction and as a move to build up speed to reach the, otherwise impossible, throw attack speed breakpoint.
Using frenzy in Chaos will get you killed from maiden.
This barb using frenzy a lot when he's at lower levels helping clear waves, but after you hit 96 and are chaosing you will not be using it very much at all.


Remember hat this is a build for hitting 99, nothing else; just has the abilities to do other things well.

You obviously fail to realize what this build is for.
You don't need to tank with a throw barb with your howl/leap. And if you want to, you just go to your spirit/hoto switch, and stand in the waves in a baal run if you want. Or, just own with frenzy, however, this  drops the game often, so be careful.
You only fight 4 targets in total, so piercing is completely unneeded.
You can surely desync faster than you can teleport to places, but that is only if you're going in a straight line without and walls.
Crushing blow is GARBAGE for throwing because of the penalty it suffers for not being melee.
Good luck trying to chaos by frenzying your way around chaos.
War Traveler only has 1 advantage over ik boots, and that is just some little extra damage, while ik boots provide ar, more life, more run/walk.  The only use of War Traveler is if you are going to magic find.
Gores are a joke, you don't need the deadly strike since it is already maxxed out, the crushing blow is a small % and doesn't do much damage from throws, along with the fact your throwing 21.6k damage, you wouldn't even notice it's added damage, and the open wounds is a small % and lacerator already causes open wounds at an averaged rate of less than 1 second.
Guil, as you have now figured by the previous statements, would be complete garbage, while EVERY SINGLE mod on Arreat's Face is just godly (and you need the str for your spirit, anyway ;).
Leech rings? You can teleport into infector's group while being amp'd and not cast/howl and you'll do enough damage to see you life going UP off of the leech on Arreat's alone. What other character can do that? None.
And get a better weapon for zerking? What in the world are you suggesting? Keep a grief in your inventory to switch to while in the middle of chaos for one out of 20 runs? You must be kidding me.

Unless you are tmc-ing to the extreme, every thing you said sounds completely retarded, in all honesty.


I'll post about skills for 30-60 in a little bit; I'll have to look at it.
Also, I want to add two things to post.



This should explain why the build uses IK boots.

i made this build yesterday, changed a few things tho.
arreats
warshrike
lacerator
fort
laying of hands
raven
random ring (change later to leech ring or something)
ik belt (change later to crafted blood belt or something)
torch/anni
37 max/dex/ar scs
dmg so far is 1.6k-9.7k and 938-12k with faith merc


i dont entirely agree with what is said above. says deadly strike is maxed w/o gores. 100% is maxed, right? at lvl 89 highlords gives 33% plus 50 from warshrike is 83. another 15 from gores would be nice. havent tested yet. i'm east nonladder btw

e=also have bo stix on switch instead of shield.

deadly strike on a weapon only applies to attacks with that weapon. 50% DS on warshrikes only works with the throwing knives, not with your other hand (lacerator). Furthermore, %DS does not stack additively. Each source of deadly strike is computed separately, its not summed up into one big number. So if you have 23% from mastery & 37% from highlords, then you have 51%, not 60% deadly strike. Adding another '15%' from gores increases you from 51% to 58% deadly strike. I'd say the 15-25 damage on war travs is probably always better than another 7% deadly strike

And of course DS on warshrike applies to warshrike only sleep4.gif

no, i asked about this a while ago and the answer was this; there are 2 dmg calculations, 2 hits, and 2 deadly strike calculations, each based on whatever weapon is hitting at the time. meaning when you are using 2x warshrike, each hit has 50% chance to ds, not 100%.

also was curious about attack rating for this guy and made a post about it. someone quoted a website:

Yes, 2 warshrikes = 50each, not 100% total. I never said its 100% total ^^
never heard about that bug, dunno

Blizzard shouldnt implement throwskills for barb, because they arent that good.
Low dmg & slow killspeed. Horrible.
